Wow! I haven't seen a 4 way levelling combine harvester in decades! We used to farm wheat and barley in the hill country of Eastern Washington in the United States. My father had an International Harvester model 403 with a 4 way levelling system. The 403 was produced from 1968 to 1973 (if memory serves me) and then International produced the model 453 from about 1974 to 1976 or so. Those were the only 2 combine harvester models that we know of that were produced in the USA. I don't know of any other manufacturer who offered a 4 way levelling system. International designed these 4 way levelling combines for the Palouse region of Washington State. That area is a few miles to the south of our farm and there are very steep hillsides much like your field there. There was no great need for 4 wheel drive, though, because the ground is much drier there and traction isn't as difficult to maintain. This was just fascinating to watch! Thank you.

Just Google wheat harvest in the Palouse region of eastern WA. That’s about all they have is hillside combines. I went up there one summer and rode around on some. Steep hills, really scary stuff. A company called Hilco, I think in Nes Perce Idaho makes the hillside kits for JD, Case IH. Yes, all self leveling, they can do it manually or set on auto. You can call it “extreme farming” Very cool to a farm kid from flat KS

@@BernerLandtechnik Maybe because of steep hills the calculated load to the ground should be greater? Probably that's why the producers you have mentioned are making them heavier and at the same time safer to protect themselves from possible accident?
@BernerLandtechnik3 жыл бұрын
@@ARTUROmechanika That can be good, but the machines don't last many hours here and as long as the technology works, you don't need a new machine

@fdsdfsdf233 жыл бұрын
@BernerLandtechnik3 жыл бұрын

That combine looks like a Laverda in a green livery, always wondered why that name wasn't more known outside of Italy, especially in hilly countries.

(tolle Gegend)
@BernerLandtechnik3 жыл бұрын
Gruss Berner
@helmutmoscheid61523 жыл бұрын

Why not start at the top and work down using gravity to help? Very similar to the combines in the Palouse region of Idaho and Washington; its a lot dryer there so not as prone to getting stuck in wett-ish soil.
