Just those couple seconds made me tear up. I could see how much pain he was in. Im glad you found him when he did. Im glad he alive and well. I lost my bernes mountain dog 8 years ago and I still think about her all the time.

I know! I hate watching it but I figured it would help spread awareness From the timeline on my home camera he had just eaten it right before we got home so luckily we found him quick

Great to see that Big Boi Benny is okay! I remember one of our BMDs growing up had a medical scare from eating something she wasn't supposed to. She had a propensity to swallow laundry items... socks, underwear, etc., which would then come out in her poop. In retrospect I think this was because her food and bowl were in the laundry room, and she came to associate the smell of laundry with food. But one day she swallowed some panty hose, and they bunched up in her intestines. She stopped eating, and we didn't notice anything was amiss for a few days. Then we noticed she was growing emaciated, and not pooping, and getting ill. So we took her to the vet, who did an X-Ray and figured out what had happened. She had to have the panty hose surgically removed, but thankfully was perfectly fine afterward.

I feel very sorry for you and Benny, I always show sympathy for others when bad things happen to them I’m glad Benny is ok and back home safe and sound too bless you and the vets for taking care of him.

So sorry to hear about Benny. It can happen so fast! Our Berner swallowed part of a ball once and had to have emergency surgery to remove it. It was touch and go for about a week and ended up costing over $8,000 . My wife and I have no idea how he got ahold of the ball in the first place!

So glad you and Benny are okay. How terrifying that must have been. Missed seeing your videos and wondered about you. FYI, xylitol is not great for some humans too. Can raise blood pressure, etc. Not good if you have a corn intolerance. Look forward to seeing Benny again so I can get my Berner fix. My girl crossed the rainbow bridge years ago and I miss her every day. 🐾

Benny says, "But mom! It was delicious!" But, seriously, yes- a person wouldn't think that a sweetener in sugar free products would be so dangerous for dogs - but it is.

Benny has lawyered up to sue the hoomans for improper care and gross negligence! (Note: he did not have to go far to find a lawyer, because the Morgan & Morgan Emergency Response team was stationed right outside the emergency vet's office.) On a serious note, (and hopefully not offend anyone,) I prefer not to use the term "luckily," but instead give Thanks to God for Benny's healing and no permanent harm. Besides Xylitol, all pet owners should search for and note all foods or anything a pet could swallow. God Bless and Protect You, Christiane, Milo, Benny and Your Entire Family!!! 🥰
