Yes, the ancient and constant struggle between these 2 is thousands of years old. The Bernese mountains of Summit county Ohio, where this breed originated, is also the domain of the once thriving land of the Lemonowski's in the area of modern day Parma, Ohio. A warring tribe of fruit that controlled the region of N.E. Ohio for some 4,000 years prior to the Roman invasion of 1243 B.C.E . When the Romans occupied the region they tamed the once indigenous Bernese wild dog and used them to subdue the Lemonowski's and this was the beginning of their blood & juice feud. Now many, many generation later we can still see the effect an ancient hatred has on these 2, well on this 1.5 individuals. I'm glad to see that the lemon was cut in half. Had this been a whole lemon that fluffy bundle of cuddles and puppy breath would have been dispatched in the traditional Lemonowski manner. A sight only the most hardened warriors could view and not lose their minds.
