This is a lively concerto that deserves to be better known!

Gran bel concerto (1894),ottimo esempio di tardo romanticismo.Affascinante per la nobiltà e varietà dei temi.Lo accosterei ,per affinità ,al secondo concerto di D'Albert.

I was wondering if I'd ever find another comment on this video. I'm actually reading into stavenhagen a lot. What is that CD like?

@@declanmurphy4709 The EBS cd of the 2nd PC ( EBS a German label ) is great. A friend called Stavenhagen's 2nd PC the "Mahler" piano concerto,to which I replied the 1st PC is then the "Wagner" PC. The 2nd is not as dark, dramatic, virtuoso as 1st, but the 2nd is a very nice sound world, lyrical, still late Romantic but more "modern". The EBS cd also has Stavenhagen's "Drei Orchestrelieder", one each for a soprano, tenor and baritone soloist with orchestra accompaniment. Not Strauss' "Four Last Songs", but again very nice, especially the soprano's lieder.I think the EBS may be at Amazon.

@@stevehaufe489 Yes I'm aware, I've seen it. I can't seem to find most of Stavenhagen's sheet music anywhere, unfortunately most of it is lost. I don't suppose if you know if the sheet music for the "Drei Orchestrelieder" still exists? I mean it probably does, except I can't seem to find it anywhere. Of the Sheet Music that is currently available to us, we have this piano concerto, Op. 1, Op. 2, Op. 5 Op.7 and Op.10 - all available on Spotify. Another set of 3 piano pieces were published posthumously in 2017 which is Op. 13. I have tried to order that online but copyright prevents me from doing so. It can only be ordered by another library, so my college library has ordered it. There is also another set of songs which is Op.9, also with copyright, and there is simply no option to rent that. However, what I have been able to order is a copy of Op. 6 (I think) which is the music to a drama entitled "Der Tod und der Tod", currently being processed right now. I should get the copy of that in a few days - very excited for that. Other than that however, works like the piano sonata in F major (no opus number), the Spanish Suite, The PC in C major, The Variations on an Original Theme for Piano all are said to be lost. But I don't believe it. This composer is one of my many musical ancestors and I wish to bring him to light.

@@stevehaufe489 Ah, I forgot to add: There is a Children's nativity play he also wrote music for.
