Skip forward to 2024 and Daniel Perry is acquitted of manslaughter charges of choking a man to death in the NYC subway. I call it the Bernhard Goetz Rule that you are duty bound and that it is perfectly legal to protect yourself and others in the NYC subway system and perhaps anywhere. Justice prevails. It is interesting that it was almost exactly 40 years ago that Bernard Goetz was arrested. I write this in mid-December 2024.

I just looked up "where are they now?" on Geotz's "victims". (Not sure when the story was written) but the one that was paralyzed from the waste down died in 2011. He was awarded $43M by the city because of HIS actions!! The other three had all gotten in trouble again and were sent to prison for varying lengths of time.
