When I was still working in ICU we never went on divert either. We were always shocked they continued to accept patients. We used to call it "musical beds". Who is the least of the sick? Who could be extubated and how fast? Pretty much what always happened was the patient crashed and came back to the unit and then we played "musical beds" all over again. Then we were told we couldn't take our breaks away from the unit, had to eat our meals at the desk so we could still take care of our patients. All of this and we were not owned by a company like Steward. I got to the point where I decreased my hours to 3-4 days a week because of the stress. I feel what the two ER nurses are saying. No Nurse should work under those conditions.

It is Soo true that this is happening in many hospitals. Hospital that do not want to pay specialty bed rental for patient with complex pressure injuries. Hospitals where a CNA has 15 LTACH patients, how is that nurse going to turn patient every two hrs. It is crazy, the CORRUPTION going on is despicable. Some Companies or Drs. charge for wound debridements when they barely touch a wound. Some providers get reimbursement for skin graft for tiny healing wounds when these grafts are not needed. PATIENTS ARE THE ONE TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF HOSPITAL GREED.

Charity often serves to reduce tax bills and line the pockets of those in charge. Non-profits often have huge salaries for their executives and board members. They might pay millions to people at the top while claiming to work for the greater good. A lot of donated money goes to fundraisers, marketing, and admin costs, not to the people who need it. Only a small portion actually helps.
