Ken Lay was the largest individual campaign contributor to George W. Bush.

He gave a lot to Clinton too. Bush was barely in office...your Bush hate is misplaced

I'm less concerned about the campaign donations than what happened in California. Enron was gaming the state's electric grid, their governor asked for the federal government to intervene as the power grid was under federal jurisdiction. Bush said nope, state issue, can't help ya. But the gov couldn't do anything because that was outside his jurisdiction. But, oh yeah, California is a heavily Democrat state and the gov was considered a possible contender to be the Democrat nominee.

@@maxa3221 lol I was not defending Enron. I was stating that Ken Lay was a big contributor to Clinton, the latter of whom's administration created economic policies that allowed companies like Enron to exist (as well creating the dot com crisis). By the time Bush got to office, the damage was done. I am not a fan of Bush by any means, but he had nothing to do with Enron.

Trump started a few new Enrons during his time as senator and time as president.
