Biden's still pretty decent when he's fired up and he's before a big crowd. I was impressed right after he and his admin. unveiled the plan to cancel some student loan debt, and he went out and campaigned for Democrats before these last 2022 midterms. The ease with which he was able to make a mockery of Republicans and their hypocrisy. Genuinely impressive

Will never happen under capitalism. It has 2 classes of people, with the minority class hoarding the wealth and owning the political and information systems to protect their economic ownership and power. Go on Bernie. I couldn’t agree more with what he said about Jeremy Corbin. He may not have been a legend but he would have been far better than the Tory’s and I think if Kier Starmer starts supporting things like the new anti-protest and anti-strike laws the Tory’s want to bring in, then he’s a better choice than Kier Starmer. And the way he’s been excluded, silenced, kicked out the Labour Party and demonised is an disgrace.

Bernie Sanders as a mayor was asked for a license to tear down affordable housing for more expensive condos and he famously said, “Over my dead fucking body”. The one thing I would critique about Bernie is I hope he realizes the right sees politics internationally so we should too. When they kicked Corbyn out for “antisemitism” they tried to do the same to Bernie but it obviously didn’t work in that case. I started getting into UK politics because when I do I see these common threads all over the place.

Corbyn as much as I personally agree with his politics lost by a landslide and is toxic, the right wing media would simply have used him to run Labour and Starmer down. It’s tough but Starmer wants to win an election and getting shot of Corbyn is going to help him into number 10. Bernie has managed to last a very long time in Congress in a practically impossible situation as an independent. What the Democrats did to Al Franken or what the Republicans did to Fred Grandy years ago are examples of what happens to politicians that piss off party leadership; yet somehow, Bernie has carefully avoided stepping on those landmines while being subject to discipline from Democratic leadership but not having any of the benefits of having a party to back him up. I think that meticulousness goes a long way towards explaining Bernie's skill at appropriating right-wing rhetoric that Aaron noticed.

On LBC BS was asked about corbyn, striking workers and Keir Starmers five bland plans , on all three he gave an answer not favourable to Keir Starmer. He also said billionaires should be taxed on GMB , in a way that I think that shocked the presenters who asked should they be taxed, “too damn right they should”, when in the UK saying this was made taboo. I think that its the corrosive power of the media.

Labour Party has lost my lifelong vote. I told their activists who showed up at my door. Both my late parents were Labour from the 1950s. Only the threat of death will make me vote Starmer. I thoroughly dislike the man.

Well, erm, ahem, let me respond to your question by saying this: I'm doing everything in my power to ensure the means to secure those rights trickle down to the most vulnerable peasa- um poors in my constituency. Also let's not forget every household has been given a generous 5p off their energy bills, a huge saving which families can choose to put towards health insurance, or fried potatoes, or gin, according to their tastes.

Damn right- if you are a supermarket raising the price of baby formula and putting it in a plastic case to prevent desperate parents who can no longer afford it from having access to food for their baby- you are a criminal and if you are kidnapping someone and throwing them in a cage for trying to feed their baby- you too are a criminal, officer!
