I remember watching a standup special in the early 90s - David Spade, Rob Schneider before they were on SNL and Fred Stoller was also on it, who is in this episode. I believe he wrote 2 episodes of Seinfeld as well. Also on that special was Jann Karam who played Jerry's girlfriend on an episode, the girl who wouldn't laugh at his jokes.
