Here’s a machine that my regular customer brings in whenever it has an issue. This time it wasn’t feeding the fabric consistently or not at all. The feed mechanism needed to be serviced and adjusted. No matter what machine you buy, or how much you spend, it will need regular maintenance. Now it’s as good as new. Great machine.

I love my 1010, and yeah, was still pricey even for a 1990’s machine (cost the same as my brand new industrial, lol)…. and I’ve definitely invested a lot more money in building my collection of feet, etc for her…. But it’s been worth it… a great metal workhorse of a machine, sews layers and vinyl like butter, hasn’t let me down in the 7-odd years I’ve had her, I ❤️ her!

I purchased this machine brand new to sew my daughter’s clothes. Now I am giving it to her so she can learn to sew! Just a terrific machine that has been good to sew clothes, quilts and even curtains!

I bought this machine 2nd hand about 8yrs ago and it's never missed a beat. It's a sturdy unit and sews beautifully. I wish Bernina still made it with thread cutter / needle threader and foot lifter! I also have a QE570 -but would forgo all of the fancy stitches for a trusty mechanical

I wish I had your services when I was in UK, so hard to find sewing machine shops there who can service older machines. I learned a lot myself about servicing these machines, which I'm pleased I did, but I wasnt able to fix them all. I shall enjoy watching your videos! I was gifted this machine by a friend, and it was lovely to sew on, as you'd expect from a Bernina. But I lend a lot of my machines out to to young/new sewists, and this one was returned to me stuck sewing a zig-zag stitch, no matter the setting it was in. I never did figure out why. She's sadly now sat in a storage unit awaiting her fate. I'm hoping to find someone in UK who'll be able to restore her.

If it’s set in the buttonhole mode, it will be stuck in zig zag. Turn the dial with the numbers 1-5 and take it to 0.

I just discovered my Bernina 1010 stitch length dial/turner on the floor and couldn't push it back on. Any idea how i can fix it please? I haven't used this machine in a long time but as its a good workhorse didn't want to part with it. its the top one the stitch width dial

If you see a tiny set screw on the perimeter of the knob, put it on and tighten it. If it’s the type with a metal clip, just line it up and press it on. I’m sorry I can help any more than that. 😎😎
