I really hope the square hoop takes off and they make it in a larger rectangle. I was going to buy one to use with my Amelie Scott edge to edge quilting designs, but I checked and the smallest files are 5.6” x 9.9” 🙁

Love your videos! Appreciate how you have always have a solution when I have a problem. Just watched you demonstrate how to use new Bernina hoops and was surprised to see you didn’t attach the slide-on table before attaching the embroidery hoop. Do you not use it while embroidering or just not put it on for purposes of demonstrating how to use the new hoops?

I hope Bernina comes out with larger square/rectangular hoops. Lots of stitching area is lost in those rounded off corners of the oval hoops.

Rounded hoops provide more even tension around entirety of hoop. Whereas the majority of the stability and grip of hoops with corners is in those corners, with very little along the straight edges. The larger the hoop, the more it becomes apparent in sewouts.

2 questions to you jeff, &/ or the community : 1 the new hoop described with the bag project is the same size as the large hoop that came with my 590, but a MUCH IMPROVED locking mechanism? 2 the new square hoop CANNOT be used with a 590 (it’s not listed at the bernina website )? Thanks. I trust YOU as my Bernina expert.

The new hoop is a bit larger than the oval I think. If you update the 590 to the latest firmware the new hoops are listed way at the bottom you have to swipe up to find all the hoops

No you need a 7 or 8 series do to its size
