I love this little stitch book idea. I completed my Bernina 790 Plus stitch book about 1 year ago. It has 1,700 different stitches! I filled up a 4 inch wide 3 ring binder. I covered each page in a plastic sheet protector & each group in a different color (mostly variegated colors so all the stitches were interesting to look at). I began the project just to get me comfortable with using & actually seeing what each one looked like & how I could manipulate the size & length. Now I refer to my book frequently when doing crazy quilts, applique' projects and looking for fun boarder stitches. I would recommend this project to anyone who wants to get the most out of what their machine offers.

Thank you for such great tips. I have a question about one of your stitches I noticed. You stitched out yellow circles in a vertical line. The top circle was the largest and the remaining circles got smaller. I have a Bernina 770 QE and I would LOVE to know what stitch that circle is. Thank you.

I would draw the “lines of paper” with colored pigma pen ink, instead of sewing them to speed up the making of the “paper look” pages of the book. I would also use heavy starch or Terial Magic to stiffen fabric and add stabilization for stitching. Plus a stabilizer on the back of pages.

What type and size needle do you use with the aurifil thread 50 wt. A twin needle would let you stitch the pink lines at once. But alas the blue lines must be done individually unless twin needles come wider than 4mm. Anyway a neat idea.
@BERNINAofNaperville
@BERNINAofNaperville 2 жыл бұрын
I used a 75 Embroidery needle. Also, you are correct, we could have don those lines with a twin needle, but this video was not geared towards that technique.

What a lovely idea. Something like this may never rival my grandmothers‘ sampler, as the handstitching is so tiny and flawless, but the idea of lining the ‚paper‘ is just brilliant.

That was an excellent tutorial! Thank you! You’ve given me permission to break the rules and play around. 😂 Being a retired accountant I’m one who begins at 1 then 2 and so forth. I had planned to do my stitch book with that mindset, stitch out all stitches by number, in order. but you’ve inspired me to be creative and do it my own way! Thank you. I needed that creative inspiration. 😊❤

I love the binder paper pages you've created! Decorative stitching is new for me. Do I need the bobbin thread to be the same color as the top thread or can I use a basic neutral color when I make the decorative stitches? Thank you!

Bobbin thread is fine. Best practice is to use a bobbin thread. 60 wt. www.berninaofnaperville.com/products/bobbin-fill-white?_pos=2&_sid=e41015445&_ss=r

I love your videos Gayle and can’t seem to get enough of them! I do have one question: how did you get the serpentine stitch to mirror exactly once you hit the mirror image button? I have tried, but my second serpentine stitch is in a lower or higher location?
@BERNINAofNaperville
@BERNINAofNaperville 2 жыл бұрын
I used the pink stitched notepaper lines and lines that up on the notch on my 20D foot. On the new BERNINAS when you mirror the stitch it also goes to the very beginning of the pattern. So make sure when you start your first row, start at the beginning of the pattern and then mirror and then start in the exact same spot as the first pass.
