Glass is an inorganic solid, usually transparent or semi-transparent, solid, easy to refract, non-permeable to natural materials. Although it has been used since ancient times but is still very important in various uses, such as buildings, tools, household utensils and telecommunications equipment. The types of glass vary widely by different components and physical properties. The most common type of glass used throughout the ages, especially in our time, is the one used in the manufacture of windows and drinking pots, lime glass, which consists of 75% silica, sodium oxide and calcium oxide; with or without additives.

What are the properties of unsaturated solids? 1. When breaking up an oxar, it produces fragments with irregular surfaces, often regular. 2. They have poorly defined patterns when exposed to x - rays because their components are not arranged in a normal 3 - amorphous matrix. They fit well enough to form an unstable crystalline network 4-containing impurities that disrupt the crystalline grid

Abstract Solid materials are characterized by a three-dimensional arrangement extending from atoms, ions or molecules where components are generally closed in their positions. The components can be arranged in a regular repetitive 3D (crystalline retina), resulting in a crystalline solid, or more or less random to produce an amorphous solid. Crystal solids contain clear edges and faces, X-ray transformation, and tend to have sharp melting points. In contrast, non-crystalline solids have irregular or curved surfaces, and do not produce good x-ray diffraction patterns. Replace, dissolve on a wide range of temperatures

System of crystalline systems. 11 13 The amorphous materials are also described as glass of composition, since glass is the most famous of the amorphous materials besides ceramic, porcelain and plastic (most stones, primary minerals and salts are crystalline). The amorphous materials may be short-circuited (10-20 atoms), but they are irregular in the long run and are called crystalline solids. An example is the structure of glass and polystyrene as well as candy. Solids have a crystalline system on a long-range basis (ie, one system that includes crystals from the first to the next) with crystals. An article on the crystals we find in table salt and sugar is clearly sugar plant. The most common types of crystalline materials are glass. These materials are sometimes referred to as "solid liquid" since the molecules in the liquid are randomly distributed without a system. The amorphous materials are described as brown glass.

ASIACELLII. 2.2. Inorganic Glasses The structure of these solids is characterized by directional bonds that form 2D / 3D networks with an average coordination number in the range between 3 to 5 (the coordination can vary significantly between the supercooled liquid and glassy solid). The random network is achieved by disabling the pattern of covalent bonding (for example, additions of soda and lime to silica), thus preventing the natural tendency of silica to crystallize. At high temperature large proportions of the bonds dissociate and the 3-dimensional network dissolves into a mixture of low molecular weight fragments, resulting in a relatively low viscosity liquid. On cooling the network re-forms with viscosity increasing approximately as (mass of network -critical mass), where n> 1. The liquid-to-glass transition is reversible and repeatable. Annealing above the glass transition temperature may lead to partial crystallization Rules for the formation of these glasses have been published by Zachariasen 43] and Warren [44]. Most inorganic glasses of this type form so-called "strong glasses", with a narrow distribution in coordination numbers in the glass [45]. Amorphous ice (solidified water) apparently has several metastable forms [46], suggesting presence of polyamorphous glasses [42]. Amorphous silicon is a special glassy material. In one form it contains a significant hydrogen content, creating Si-H bonds. However, a chemically pure a-Si can also be produced (see for example reference [9]). In this class we should also include amorphous carbon. The term amorphous carbon is restricted to the description of carbon materials with localized -electrons as described by PWAnderson [47 Deviations in the C - C distances greater than 5% occurring in such materials, as well as deviations in the bond angles because of the presence of dangling bonds [48]. The above description of amorphous carbon is not applicable to carbon materials with two-dimensional structural elements present in all pyrolysis residues of carbon compounds as polyaromatic layers with a near ideal interatomic distance of a 142 pm and an extension greater than 1000 pm.

Amorphous materials are found extensively in the fields of intermetallic [1], inorganic [2], and organic materials [3, and have a wide range of important applications. Over the last 5-10 years, the materials science community has studied extensively a fourth class of materials, namely, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) [4,5]. These are net- work structures in which metal atoms are linked via or- ganic ligands in a crystalline array. Their structures can be dense or porous, and, by virtue of their combined structural and chemical versatility, they have a wide range of appli- cations, including gas sorption and separation, magnetism and photoluminescence. While amorphous products have been identified in this emerging area [6-8-including a very recent report of pressure-induced amorphization [9] there are nowell-characterized examples. The zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) [ه10-12] are interesting candidates for amorphization because their structures are closely related to zeolitic silica polymorphs by virtue of their analogous tetrahedral connectivites [Fig. 1]. We show here that ZIFs can form network glasses with silica- glasslike forms. Our results demonstrate how the chemical versatility of MOFs might be coupled with the attractive mechanical, optical, and electronic properties of the amor- phous state to yield a new generation of advanced func- tional materials Inorganic zeolites can transform to amorphous struc- tures with either pressure or temperature [13]. In the present work, we have discovered that the zinc imidazolate ZIF-4 [14] will amorphize at ambient pressure on heating. Bulk samples of ZIF-4 were prepared via solvothermal reaction of zinc(II) nitrate hexahydrate and imidazole in dimethylformamide (DMF) [14,15]. Thermogravimetric
