This is fun of the highest quality! Orozco, being Colombian gives this piece the right tempo. Bernstein loved everything Latin, after all his wife was Chilean. Terrific interpretation with a great orchestra!

A delightful work composed for the Boston Symphony Centennial in 1980, perhaps uneven but always engaging, expertly done here by the FRSO. I especially enjoyed the highlighted solos and groups.

According to the score, the Samba movement is mostly in cut time, but will occasionally shift to 3/2
