This thing would be perfect for brazing copper tube, small stuff of course, and I think it’s cheap enough to get and try without hurting

En Venezuela cuesta $150 dólares es muy caro y cada bombo cuesta 20 dólares cada una. Es muy alto el precio pq no dura nada 3l oxígeno

Thank you for your presentation. Honest critique: 1) Review gas welding procedures and protocols first and then 2) make some practice runs at your video presentations. Too, when you see sparks coming from your project, your metal is too hot.

I had this kit, tanks lasted way too short at 5 minutes, oh and no flashback arrester set so I found it dangerous even the free-standing tanks and cheap regulators
@nutgone100 Жыл бұрын
You can braze with these, but you shouldn’t be welding steel with them. Oxy-Propane or oxy-propylene (Mapp gas) aren’t suitable for welding, they’re too oxidising for steel. You’ll end up with a brittle weld.

I have one of these kits. It works fine for the 5 minutes you get out of each oxygen cylinder.

Es verdad. No dura mucho y muy caro el oxígeno en ese embase. 20 dólares cada pote. Y no lo recargan. Lo q si vale la pena es el soplete. Es bueno.

what is the name of the welding rod you use and where can I buy it from. Thank you.
@psmith22343 жыл бұрын
Any welding supplies company will have gas welding rod and brazing rod (get the rods that are pre-coated with a white brazing flux). Get these rods in the smallest diameter available (probably 1/16" in USA). The rods will likely come in clear plastic tubes, and you'll observe that the rods look excessively long and unwieldy, but you just cut them in half or thirds or whatever you like.

I'm quite frustrated that I can no longer purchase the oxygen bottles for the same setup you have here. They're no longer available to purchase in the UK.
@psmith22343 жыл бұрын
Talk to a welding supply shop about how you can adapt your setup to use their smallest pressure bottle/tank (or, i suppose, whatever size you like). using an oxygen regulator. I had to do this with my old SolidOx outfit (this torch was purchased and improved by Bernzomatic). After you've bought your first bottle, when it runs low you take it back to the welding supplier and they either refill it or swap you for a full bottle for the price of the contents. One fill-up of one of these high pressure bottles will last far longer than those screw-top bottles did. If you go this route, visit one of the KZbin videos that give beginners' instruction on gas welding and brazing to learn how to set up and shut down your oxygen regulator.

You can use an oxygen concentrator, and adapt it. A lot of glass blowers use one instead of oxygen tanks
@shawndubay4050 Жыл бұрын
What about an oxygen concentrator machine?? I would definitely ask a welding supply store about setup. Could turn out alot better than constantly having to get multiple bottles for one tank of fuel. Thinking of doing the same and getting this machine.

Do not recommend using a lighter. You should always use a striker
@treasuretotrash20672 жыл бұрын
Why?
@ghostdrew48872 жыл бұрын
@@treasuretotrash2067 because the gas is coming from the canisters can get stuck on other objects like the lighter and then if you go to light it up again the lighter could explode in your hand because it's been oxygenated.

Brazing puts less heat into a part than welding, since you're not melting the base metal. Less heat means less distortion or warpage. If done properly it can be extremely strong.
