Why doesn't watchtower have meaningful talks like this? Oh! That's right. They are uninspired (their own words) and take wild stabs in the dark using personal feeling to come to conclusions. When it's wrong, then they take another stab and call it "new light". I think the hardest part for me waking up was learning all the end times prophecy stuff from the jws was false. I'm not saying not to be in expectation of Jesus, but it was painful to realize I might very well fall asleep in death before he comes back. It's getting easier and easier to accept. It is nice to know I can live a full life now AND hope for something better. The love of Papa sure is greater than the slave drivers I used to have lol

@@johncontrary8149 you explained it perfectly! It was like grieving my own death. My poor bf put up (in a lot of love and tenderness) with a lot of tears. It was an exjw friend of mine, who reminded me, even Jesus said we can't calculate the day, that only our Father knows the end of satan's age. And my bf has encouraged me to live a good life now and pursue the things that make me happy. So a lot of my restored earth dreams, have become realities now! I think it's hard for exjws because realizing the "truth" is a lie, makes you question all of it. I know I did. I had to go back and reexamine hellfire and the trinity. But since a big part of my waking up was coming to understand the masonic and demonic roots of the jws, I was determined not to return to any other apostate beliefs. I also experienced this. It is something that takes time to wrap your head around. I am beginning to see it as a journey where I will get to see first hand the effects of human imperfection to fully appreciate the ransom sacrifice before I may eventually die. But the death I am beginning to see as a returning to my creator almost like the prodigal son whose father sees him coming and goes out to meet him. I have been meditating on a singular thought: is the fear of death one of the greatest tricks of the devil? When really death is like crossing the finish line to awaken into a hope and future he will never have. Rev 2:10 for example. Just a thought

There’s full Preterism (which I think is what you are speaking of) and partial Preterism, or as the partial Preterists call it, orthodox Preterism. The Second Coming, resurrection of the dead, and Final Judgment have not yet occurred in the partial preterist system. But many other things have. My bias as you rightly point out is against JW belief. Hence, I landed on this. How do Christians understand Jesus words about the sign? They don’t see the hidden fulfillment that JW have created. In Matthew 1, “generation” is defined as it is in all dictionaries. According to Matthew, a father, a son, and a grandson are 3 generations. People BORN at about the same time make up the same generation. A son and father can’t be born at the same time and so are two generations. So when Jesus said all those things would take place in one generation, and Jerusalem was destroyed a few decades later in 70 CE, this really was in one single generation. As part of the sign, Jesus said the good news would be preached in “all the inhabited earth.” (Mat 24:14). Well, Paul confirms that in his time the “good news” was preached “in all creation that is under heaven.” (Col 1:23). So the preaching work was completed in the first century, within that one generation as Jesus said. When those writers were speaking of the entire inhabited earth, they were speaking of what they considered to be their whole world, Palestine, or perhaps the Roman Empire. Luke 2:1: “Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Au·gusʹtus for ALL THE INHABITED EARTH to be registered.” Certainly they were not registering “all the inhabited earth.” For them, “all the inhabited earth” meant merely the local area where they lived. (See also Acts 2:5; Acts 11:28; Luke 4:25) Acts 2:5-in Jerusalem there were men from every nation under heaven. Acts 11:28-a great famine over all the world. Luke 4:25. “famine great upon all the earth.” The famine and pestilence and war. Those things happened also. Jesus doesn’t really say that 2000 years from now these things would also happen and happen during a generation that lasts many many generations. Jesus was right. Jerusalem destroyed in 70 CE, within that one generation. And the preaching work that Jesus foretold in all the inhabited earth. Well that was completed in the first century also. Paul said the good news had been preached in ALL CREATION under heaven. (Col 1:23). It seems “all creation” and “all the world” and “all the inhabited earth” really only refer to the area they knew.

You are talking about full or hyper preterism, which is considered as heretism, but there's also something like partial preterism which does still expect a second coming of Christ and teaches that some parts of the book Revelation are still not fulfilled.
@BeroeanPickets5 жыл бұрын
I do know about partial Preterism, but it seems like we're trying to give a name to something that needs no name. To explain: A partial Preterist is someone who believes that things that occurred in the past occurred in the past, and things that have yet to occur have yet to occur. That's just common sense. Do we need to label common sense as partial Preterism? It seems redundant and unnecessary to put a name to it, IMHO.

First and foremost, I read my KJV bible literally, while there may be a few or some places that require interpretation, I am not sure, I believe God gave us His Word and intended that it be simple enough that even people of low education could read and grasp His Word with His help. God intended that the common person could come to Him and receive knowledge by having a one on one relationship with Him. Part of this relationship requires 100% commitment on our part, we are willing to forsake everything to follow Him. By submitting ourselves 100% to God through Jesus Christ, we can rest assured that in seeking His truth from His Word we will be lead into all truth. These scriptures show us that we can gain knowledge and wisdom through the Spirit of God, but again I stress that this only comes to those who are completely and totally committed and submitted to The Father and to Christ. Luk 12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: Luk 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. Joh 16:14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. Joh 16:15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. In order to benefit and have what these scriptures promise, we have to be in total submission to the Father and His Son, denying ourselves, taking up our cross and following Jesus. We are going to be lead by either God or the devil those are the only two options, it is one or the other. 1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1Jn 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. We are born into a world of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch, and in this world, there are multitudes of stimuli for each sense, it is by accepting Christ and determining to walk with Him that we learn to put away all these stimuli for the pleasure of the flesh denying ourselves and learning to walk as He did. This world is our dressing room as the bride of Christ, His bride will be a chaste bride. This is how it must be or people will miss the mark not really looking for Christ with all their heart because they do not want to give up everything, all they really want is fire insurance and to live somewhat how they want to. That is why so many can be deceived by the cults because the cults want people to be dependant on them, as that is how the leaders in these cults live from the gifts of their flock, if their people actually read God's real Word and got their understanding from the Holy Ghost then the cults would dry up and vanish away. Our dependence is on The Father through Christ His only begotten Son.

@Sharon Porter I just looked over my post as it is from 8 months ago, and I did not see anything that spoke to the round/flat earth debate at all. but since you went there, I do not believe in a flat earth because everything I have seen from the flat earth perspective has been mocking those who do not believe in a flat earth, and very very little science/substance for the flat earth. in your flat earth model, the sun and the moon are opposite to each other not too far above us in the sky and the earth is this disc thing sitting down below them, no one has explained the moon phases where a shadow of something round is being cast on the moon, anything large enough to cast a shadow on the moon should be just as visible as the sun and moon. supposedly the earth is moving upward at a velocity rate of 9.8m/s^2. that is supposed to explain why things fall to the ground and why we are stuck to the ground, yet the sun and the moon stay in place and do not fall to the ground. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHnXp3d3Zbxmaqs kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIK2p6KtqKaIoas kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKfFf2CZjMpjd5I 2 men Felix Baumgartner, and Alan Eustace have done space dives from a special gondola/weather balloon and special spacesuit designed for the space dive both were in excess of 100,000 feet up. these jumps last I tried to calculate the cost was about 1 million dollars to do, you do not need a rocket just the items I specified and a live camera with all of the flatties, there are, raising 1 million dollars to be able to repeat the feat should be no problem, then just have a live camera to show the earth from 135,000 feet up and you can prove your theory. you can make all the claims you want that the space dives showing the curvature of the Earth was faked, and I will refuse to listen to anything further until Y'all do a space dive yourselves. you now have the information to repeat the feat and prove your view, I will be waiting to see the results of your space dive, I am not interested in your pseudoscience and nonsensical explanations just do a space dive with a live camera feed and prove it then I will be all ears.

@Sharon Porter Again I looked over my post to see where I may have done any belittling and I did not see it, nor was I trying to belittle anyone, that is a good way for people to dismiss anything else you have to say by doing such. My apologies, it was not my intention to belittle you or anyone else. the space dives have been done with cameras and show curved earth, that is why I suggested that the flat earthers do a space dive, surely there are enough flat earthers to make up the money to do it. document everything, if those who provided the materials and built the gear for the previous space dives refuse to do it for you then you would have another thing to show there is a conspiracy to hide the truth from the people. I have a scriptural problem with the flat earth. a lot is riding on the governments knowing the earth is flat and a conspiracy to keep that knowledge from the people of the world. this knowledge of a flat earth and impenetrable dome precludes God that made it that way. Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. those that "know God exists" because of the flat earth and impenetrable dome, cannot exercise faith as they have scientifically proven knowledge, therefore those people who know that God exists because they have proven the flat earth and dome over it cannot be saved, their knowledge of God is proven with facts so it is impossible for them to exercise faith to believe in a God they cannot see when they already know he does exist. there are doomed because they cannot know God by faith. would God who knows everything that will be from eternity past make it possible that men with science and technology could "know God exists" so that they would be doomed because they cannot exercise faith, would God allow that scenario?

Please address this. It is important for my frail faith.
@chrisclark29235 жыл бұрын
You are quite right, that's what Jesus did say TO HIS DISCIPLES BACK THEN...2000 years ago when they approached Him re; the Temple and its buildings...Jesus tells THEM those asking the question (2000 years ago, remember audience relevance) what to look out for to know that His coming and the destruction was near and they did. Jesus came in 70AD, just as He said he would within this generation, to destroy the physical Temple, its sacrificial system and all the records that would tell anyone who was who as the birth records of all tribes were kept within those walls which is why Paul talks about not getting involved in foolish questionings about genealogies as flesh and blood would not inherit the kingdom as we are now born of the spirit and become children of God and Abraham's seed through faith in Yeshua ( Please read 1 Tim 1 v 4. Titus 3 v 9. Gal 3 v7-9, 26-29) The Kingdom was set up in 70AD and since that time people are going up to the mountain of God. Remember what Yeshua said in Luke 17 v 20,21. WE, those who have faith in Yeshua ARE the kingdom of God...us, living stones being built into the household of God. We are IN the kingdom, you and me right NOW as we are it, outside are all those who do not have faith, and this kingdom of God has been growing and continues to grow even to this day....you cant crush it. knock it down, set light to it, destroy it in any way because its EVERYWHERE because WE, GODS CHILDREN ARE EVERYWHERE. There is sooooo much to say on this subject but I suggest you look at www.bereanbiblechurch.org and you will find a veritable treasure trove which will certainly give you an amazing insight into this subject. I myself believe totally in the coming of the Lord in 70AD just as He promised ALL of His disciples throughout all of the letters. Remember the scriptures are filled with "coming soon" "shortly" "must shortly come to pass" "it is the last hour" "it is nearer than when we first believed" "the time is at hand" and so on and on, check for yourself. If the apostles were writing to the disciples back then (yes back then) to... hold on, stand firm, stay awake, He's coming soon, Im near at the doors and when you see these things, if they weren't really going to happen.... why did the Lord have them written...Jesus said "THIS GENERATION" (in shouty voice) why is it soooo hard for people to get it...Imagine being told to" hold on" the Lord will return soon and for it to be a total ruse, they were being given false hope which is worse than no hope at all and which would lead to another question... what else is there that we do not take the Lord at His word, no the Lord was and is truthful, what He said back then He meant. Matt 21 verses 35-46 read them verryyy slowly then read them again and get what Yeshua is saying to HIS AUDIENCE 2000 years ago and to understand just who the vineyard is read Isaiah 5 v 1-7...who is the vineyard? and to whom did the householder COME to destroy in this parable, then read once again Matt 21 v 35-46. I myself see this so easily and when you do see it all scripture falls into place, there are no seeming contradictions it all runs perfectly smooth. One of the commentators said they didn't like the idea of Yeshua coming in 70AD but do you know what I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be do, letting my light shine to all and displaying the love of God in my life and I;m not thinking "when is He coming I'd better stay awake"...no...I am in Christ and His love and call out to others "COME, take life's water free" as Yeshua has long past established the second and done away with the first. Our Lord reigns and has done for the last 2000 years come and rejoice in our King and live...how simple and easy is that. Blessings to all. May we have a childlike heart that wants to know what is the Fathers truth.

Hi, I discovered your channel and have enjoyed watching it. I'm not now or ever been a JW, but I love your outreach to those in that community seeking to break free from the cult. Regarding your series on Preterism, I agree there's an unhealthy element inside of the camp, but, your approach and your analysis of the underlying thesis are flawed (with all due respect) Just a few points. The doctrine of end-time destruction is primarily tied to the evolution of dispensationalism developed in the 1800s to early 1900s. Perfect timing to influence the emergence of the Domesday cults starting around that same time. JW/WT The Adventist LDS ETC Because of the development of Dispensationalism and the language associated with its development, the 2nd Coming replaced Come Again as a way of talking about Christ's coming. Matthew 24 is not a coming at the end of history, it is a coming in Judgement against Isreal, bringing an end to the Mosaic covenant and establishing fully the Messianic covenant. The language of shifting soloar systems and the like is Old Testament language used to communicate with a Jewish audience that would have been all too familiar. Its like one fighter saying to another fighter “I'm going to knock your block off.” We know his block (his head) is not coming off no matter how badly he's beaten. One more point to consider First century Laodicea was destroyed by an earthquake in AD 60. According to Roman writer Tacticus, Rome offered to pay for the city to be rebuilt, but the people declined, saying that they were wealthy enough to restore their own city. As an indictment, Jesus certainly could use the words in Revelation to check their ego before the destruction of Jerusalem and as late as 65 - 66 AD. The time of the statement is not inconsistent with world events.

Thankyou for this. My main objection to preterism is that it would mean everything is finished, ie. what we see today is the fulfillment of Gods purpose , that all is as it should be. That means that God purposed for suffering of the innocent because the earth is still filled with injustice and suffering. I am not drawn to a God like that thankyou. If the preterist view is untrue then why has God waited 2000 years, and counting, to finish things?. That also does not make sense. Straw Man Alert: You said, Preterists teach Christians vanished off the earth in a 1st century "first resurrection." Preterists teach that the “first resurrection” is our spiritual resurrection in the New Birth, when we are raised up and seated in heavenly places with Christ, per Ephesians chapter 2. The “second resurrection” is the resurrection of the body. Ad Hominem Alert: Guilt by alleged association: Every Jehovah's Witness I ever met is a “futurist” and doesn't believe anything close to Preterism. Every Preterist I ever met considers Jehovah's Witness to be false doctrine. Any external quotes are overruled by solid internal evidence, but your internal “proofs” are inconclusive based on your guesstimates of how long it would take for some bad effect to occur. Your premises are not sound. Almost all Paul’s epistles were written to correct errors that sprang up almost immediately after he left town. There are at least two incontrovertible, internal proofs that the date of writing Revelation was before Jerusalem fell 1) According to Rev. 11:1 the temple was still standing when John wrote 2) According to Rev. 17:10 the 6th King of Rome was ruling as John was writing, which counting from Julius Caesar was Neron Caesar. His name adds to 666 and Nero is in fact known to history as “The Beast." He persecuted the Christians for exactly 3-1/2 years. Your problem is failure to interpret the Bible literally. You spiritualize the prose sections of Revelation and interpret the poetry with a wooden literalism. The clear must interpret the unclear. The first 10 introductory verses are for the most part prose that should be interpreted according to the plain, normal, everyday meaning of the language. They tell us who, what, when, where, how and why. These clear statements should govern our interpretation of all subsequent poetic passages that are less clear. For example, John is writing to 7 literal churches and he establishes the “when” in the first paragraph: He is prophesying of “things which must shortly take place… for the time is near.” But futurists spiritualize these clear, literal time references to mean 2,000+ years in the future by muddying the water with the verse that “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years.” So what. This is one man communicating with another in plain, literal, everyday language. His purpose is to encourage his readers that their suffering will soon be vindicated. But by your interpretation John comes off saying, "cheer up, be happy, it'll all be over in a couple thousand years." Some encouragement. Thus, you are the one who spiritualizes the Scripture to fit your preconceived theory that these events must all be in the distant future. To make some of these absurd conclusions, it's fairly obvious you've never seriously studied any Preterist works. You might want to read "An Eschatology of Victory" by Marcellus Kik, "The Beast of Revelation" by Ken Gentry or "Last Days Madness" by Gary DeMar before you make any more such ill-informed accusations.

The Bible speaks in Re 20:4-6 of the first resurrection which you interpret to be being born again, meaning that you and I apparently have already undergone the first resurrection, which is when Jesus takes us up into the air, and which according to Re 20:4 is when we start ruling as kings. I don't see evidence that I have begun ruling as a king, do you? Doesn't Paul chide the Christian with this sarcasm: "“. . .Have you begun ruling as kings without us? . . .” (1 Corinthians 4:8) But there is nothing in the Bible that speaks of a second resurrection of the body. The only second resurrection mentioned is that of the unrighteous to judgment. Re 11:1 is a vision. The literal temple was gone by then, but if it had been in existence, there would have been no reason to measure it as the dimensions were already a matter of record. As for Nero and the whole 666 thing which is obtained by assigning numbers to the letters of his name, I call that 'fun with numbers'. You can have all kinds of fun playing with peoples names that way, but ultimately it is meaningless and unscriptural. Remember, the truth is revealed to babes but hidden from the "wise and intellectual". As for 'shortly take place', you prefer to view it as a man, but I think God's viewpoint trumps ours. As for the incorrect Ad Hominem alert, since I'm not a Jehovah's Witness, I don't see the relevance. Unless you are warning us that you are engaging in an ad hominem attack by trying to assign guilt by association with JWs to me. I have read texts on Preterism which is why I discount it as a valid methodology for understanding Scripture. It relies too much on human interpretation. For instance, Re 17:10 which you cite speaks of a seventh king who remains only a short time. Verse 11 speaks of the wild beast (Nero, the beast, according to you, and also the sixth king) who according to vs 8 and 11 was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss. So Nero, was, is not, but ascends out of the Abyss, goes off into destruction (presumably by committing suicide). However, given your penchant for literalism, you now have Nero, the Beast, according to verse 11, springing from the seven, but the seventh hasn't yet appeared when Nero comes on the scene since Nero is the sixth. To make matters worse, the beast, Nero, who is the sixth king is also the eight king who springs from the seven. This is the problem with a literal human interpretation based on preconceived ideas. Eisegesis will always get you into trouble and in the end make you look foolish. Better to let the Bible interpret itself, and when unsure, just say, "I don't know".

Preterism is akin to rapture belief in that both are false doctrine escapism. They are willful and wishful believing that there is no chance you will have to experience end time tribulation. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. Indeed, if are going to accept a Preterist view, then we have to accept that Jesus’ presence began in 70 C.E. based on Matthew 24:30, 31 and that the holy ones were resurrected and transfigured in the twinkling of an eye at that time. If that were the case, then why the need for them to escape the city? Why all the warnings about fleeing immediately so as not to get caught and perish with the rest? Why not just rapture them up then and there? And why would there be no mention in Christian writings from later that century and throughout the second century of the mass rapture of all the holy ones? Surely there would be some mention of the disappearance of the entire Christian congregation of Jerusalem. But the stuff all the religious folk argue about? Nuances of rapture, time tables, preterism etc. They claim these are so important for survival or salvation. But this perfect God seems to have bungled the message. Great conflict over these nuances is just further evidence that the bible as we have it now, isnt Gods book.

I would heartily disagree. The Word of God is working exactly as intended. “At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to young children. Yes, O Father, because this is the way you approved.” (Mt 11:25, 26) “but God chose the foolish things of the world to put the wise men to shame; and God chose the weak things of the world to put the strong things to shame; and God chose the insignificant things of the world and the things looked down on, the things that are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, so that no one might boast in the sight of God.” (1Co 1:27-29)

In fact the grouos arguing with each other about the bible dont argue about this issue...they often ignore it in practice. So dont do that, practice it." It also reasons that the others issues must not be as plainly stated. Why? Who knows. Maybe translation over time or maybe those parts are the thoughts of men." I believe God gave me that ability. I dont think about things to short him. I think about these things because he gave me a mind to do so. Even if no one else knows, i am sure God knows that I don't esteem myself as wise. So I don't think that applies in my particular case. But on that note, I do observe that you seem to behave according to Micah 6:8. Eric, with due respect, you did not disprove preterism with this talk. Whether all of Revelation will be understood I don't know, but we have enough to see that Revelation was about the destruction of Jerusalem. The Revelation needs to be approached in the same way as the book of Daniel. Daniel is given visions that show the same ideas but in different ways. Revelation in a nut shell is the judgement of the unfaithful wife, Jerusalem, and the marriage to the new bride, the faithful followers of Christ. Prophecy can come and go without realising it if we are not sure what to look for, or have wrong understandings. The disciples asked about the prophecy of the coming of Elijah, Jesus showed them it had already happened. Matthew 17:10-13.

It was the Disciples speaking to Yeshua to which Yeshua replied "Truly not one stone will be left upon a stone and not be thrown down" WOW what a statement for a jew to hear, obviously the next questions would be what anyone of us would ask... TELL US, who is the us...the disciples that showed Him the temple 1) WHEN shall these things be? 2) WHAT shall be the SIGN of thy COMING 3) And the END of the age (world in some bibles but in the greek Eon Strongs G165 Age) Logically then WHEN is their first question... The Temple had stood for many years and was the centre of the universe for a jew, all knew Gods presence was bound up with Jerusalems Temple it was where God resided for the jews, so to hear this was in reality astounding for them so then went on to ask... WHAT will be the sign of your coming , they must have already had knowledge that the destruction of the temple was in conjunction with the Lords coming as this was there next question...WHAT shall we look out for to know that these events are to take place and your on your way....then END of the age ...WHAT age....the old covenant age, the age that they had been living under since they were born and for the last 1,450 years, the Mosaic covenant. See Matt 21 v 33-46. All that Yeshua wrote was for them to hear 1 Cor 10 v 11 ...and they are written for OUR (those back then) admonition upon whom the ends of the workd (Eon/age G165) are come. Its all about THEM those brothers and sisters that would still be alive when the Lord would come to destroy the Temple and all of its sacrificial system and priesthood and establish the New Covenant as promised to Abraham (Heb 8 v 33) Please read Galations 3 and 4. Visit www.beareanbiblechurch.org for an amazing revelation as to what "pastist" understanding is. Blessings.

There is another potential proof I thought of recently against Preterism. And that's in John's Gospel of the Good News and life of Jesus. Interestingly, John is the only Apostle, to not write down Jesus' warnings about Jerusalem falling and the command to flee it. It could be reasoned that, John never wrote down Jesus words', (if the idea that John wrote his Gospel the same time roughly he wrote Revelation is correct), because Jerusalem had fell by then, thus, he may have detirmined that writing down the warnings Jesus gave in regards to Jerusalem, were not needed, and wanted to preserve what was "useful" to Christians from then on. Of course, some Preterists who claim Revelation was John's account of the fall of Jerusalem, might say he addressed it there, however, it would seem odd that John would leave out Jesus' words about the warnings of Jerusalem completely, and its absence, may very well be John being "practical" with his writing of the Gospel.

@@thecrisisfortruth I agree. I do think Revelation is his version of it, but I also think Revelation is a "future fulfilment" and "double meaning" also. The words of angel says "write down the things that are, the things that have been, the things that are, and the things that will be". I personally think Revelation is in part the description of what happened in 70 A.D but also will have a "larger" or more complete fulfilment to spiritual Israel (Christians) in future, as a cycle of on going prophecy until Jesus' visible return.
