Had the pleasure of meeting Bert, Danny Thompson, Martin Jenkins, 1980, Bury UK I worked at an arts centre and mixed the sound for the evenings show. An afternoon of sound checks, cool banter an me a 18 yr old! Bert played my new;y purchased guitar that I still have here in NZ, Martin played it too, bert played a little of Angie, an a bit of others…I had no idea who they were…my bosses did an laughed in a friendly way, I shared a whiskey with them both before and after the gig, got them ciggies an butties and pies…it was only a few months later that I began to hear of, and explore the offerings of this wonderful wonderful chap. Thanks

This is sad and wonderful all at the same time. Bert Jansch was an amazing musician!

It's also sad that the cam was completely unaware of the guitar Bert was playing.

The interviewer is so intimidating practically sitting on Bert's knee. Bert looks very uncomfortable, But Bert isn't about the persona and the music speaks volumes. Beautiful performance and so nice to see a great artist so vulnerable as we all are x

Extraordinary musician had turned my direction in my playing since mid 60's. Bert has no bad songs and I have heard them all I think? Would love to hear what he was going to write. We lost a great song writer guitarist musician.

He was totally drunk in the interview and is marked by several years of hard drinking. Despite of that I like his attacks of the guitar.

Blues Run the Game by Jackson C. Frank... normally sung without repeating verses due to being pissed. Look for the original it’s brilliant. Such a tragic story.

This is hard to watch because despite his perpetually amazing fingerstyle he's very drunk and has the physical signs of servere alcoholism - he became very sick soon after this video and nearly died before finally getting sober...he died of cancer - a far more dignified death, in my opinion
