"Sugar Ray lost ONCE in his first 123 fights..!". O_o
@samebar10 жыл бұрын
128 actually....Sugar Ray Robinson lost once in his first 128 fights. 49 and 0 ain't shit....it's the heavyweight unbeaten record. Julio Cesar Chavez was 89 and 0. Carlos Monzon had a run of 71 unbeaten fights after being 16 for 3, finishing up 87 for 3. Willie Pep was 62 and 0 before his first loss. Chavez went from 117 lbs to 150 lbs, Pep was a featherweight, Robinson a welter weight who became a middleweight (sound familiar?) and Monzon was a middleweight. So for the weight Floyd's talking about, 49 for 0 is really do-do.

Yes, for their pro debut. However, pacquiao was 16 years and 1 month old while Floyd was 19 years and seven months old. That's a big difference. In 1993 at the golden gloves championships, when Floyd was 16, he weighed 106 lbs. for the record...

knowing the time of a drug test compromise the whole test entirely, peds can be masked with other drugs or cycled out of your system come testing time with careful planning. if you really trying to find something random testing is the best way to go.

there are some points for snpaa, but the biggest issue here is for all 40 fights for floyd why he only suggested to do random drug testing only start to pacman fight... bert sugar is right floyd never scared to any boxers but bcoz of his clean record he became too conscious for that bcoz he dont want somebody mess his record. that is why even though he can face big challenges he will turn it down and get the easier fight to add up more winning to his record. in short he turned into scared boxer

Not about economics , Pac was 16 when he turned Pro , he's 33 now. Nothing unusual about gaining 40 lbs between those ages. Mayweather as a 16 year old amatuer fought at 106lbs !! Many Many Pro fighters move up in weight thru-out their career. Duran , Leonard , Hearns etc. That was a BS started by MAYWEATHER SR after Manny walked right thru his fighter Hatton.

@Orangewind14 жыл бұрын
Pac's fault: Because of the era we are in, because another athlete has exposed the flaw in the testing standard, and because Pac is one of the popular heads in the sport, he should have agreed to making sure the testing standard is up to date when made aware it wasn't, just like other athletes have.
@fairalways14 жыл бұрын
Bert said it: he's afraid of losing. Elie, you're young, and didn't live through the 15-round era when boxing had another dimension and your heroes fought and lost. The first thing out of your mouth to Bert was about FM's perfect record. As if it matters. Those of us who've been pounded by life's years don't care about perfect. Nothing's perfect. Perfect records mean shit. They only mean you've never had someone show you your imperfection. Greatness is more important than perfection. MP is great

So to sum it up: Floyd should have went to the commission in order to have them improve their testing standards; Floyd should not have accused Pac and instead should have made him aware that the testing system is not up to date and that it would look good on both their parts to partake in an improved, stict testing standard to let everyone know they are clean (which represents the sport). And Pac is wrong to go along with the Commission which has failed the fighters.

Floyd settled with pac so he didnt have to release his test results, his own fighters were caught taking peds in his own gym , and when asked what TRT is floyd looked shit scared and guilty , but how is floyd gonna clean up the sport when he dosnt know what trt is? i know he said that before in 2005 , but those were his first excuses when he tried to explain why wouldnt take the test, he said he was afriad of needs, then he said the blood make him feel weak , but he said he would do them as long as they werent close to the fight and mayweather offered him a 14 day cut off date where he wouldnt be tested but he still refused, him not taking the 14 day cut off date is a clear contradition of what he said before.

Bert Sugar. nice! he has the same opinion that others have as well. It is understandable. A person would want to keep perfection, NO BLEMISH on the record. Pac does pose a threat to that perfection. Just hope that fights happens next year.
@Orangewind14 жыл бұрын
Whose fault is it? It's Boxing #1, then Pac #2, then Floyd #3. Here's why: Boxing as a whole is supposed to make sure the fighters are competing on a "level playing field." So just like they are supposed to check hand-wraps, they are supposed to make sure ALL fighters are clean and in order to do that they have to continue to improve the Testing Standard continuously; boxing failed to do that.
@Orangewind14 жыл бұрын
They are behind and because of that, an athlete, in this case Floyd Jr, called them out on it and they got busted. Since he is risking his health he has ever right to expect them to do their jobs yet they suck at it. They need to fix it.

There were better fighters at 140 and 147 to fight than who Pac fought just like there were better fighters for Floyd to face at 147 for years now. This is the business of boxing. But Floyd did want to face Oscar and Shane while they were still prime; he just didn't have the pull like he did later on. And, while Pac is still in his peak, I don't think Floyd is.

FracturedUnion71 the subjectivity is completely subjective. some people have ray robinson as #1 p4p, other's have harry greb as #1 and others have sam langford as #1.. it just depends on who's making the list and what they consider better accomplishments
