The sound was so clear, it could be heard miles away w/o distortion. Parked a long, long way away and was serenaded to the car. So very cool. New Riders, Marshall Tucker, and the Dead. What a way to end the summer ;-)

Englishtown, 9/3/77, one of the best days of my life, I remember most of it, considering the shape I was in , that's pretty remarkable.

I was there. The New Riders of the Purple Sage opened. Marshall Tucker then took the stage after which The Dead played for several hours. Not bad for ten bucks.

One of my very fave concerts with all my friends. I had just come home from spending the summer in Humboldt Cty with friends from NY who had moved there. Another friend called me a couple of days after I got home and we agreed to move to SF in Jan 1978. And then we all went to Englishtown and had a fabulous high dreamy fun time. The rest is history and my friend and I are both still here. Separately, but still in the Bay Area. Because of the lure of the Dead. NFA.

My dad died Aug1 my birthday was the 14 the my 7th I lived on Becket Rd kamala pan they played September 3 Rd I was swimming in my mom's pool and hearing Jerry jam

Best concert ever. Camped out the night before, saw all the freaked out church people the next morning with their windows rolled up stuck in traffic while all the concert goers slid across their car hoods. If you weren't in Englishtown on that day you missed a great time

One of their better shows. I saw them also at RFK Stadium DC in 1972, Gaelic Park NY in '70 or '71,Watkins Glen NY as well the Fillmore East and Capitol Theater ,Passaic NJ i '77. I haven't seen them since they played the arena in NJ in 2008.Always a high time to be had on a long strange trip.

When we got ready to leave we couldn't find our friend Wayne Vancoughnet. He had split from us early on in the concert, so we left the poor guy, couldn't find him, and he had to hitchhike back to Connecticut!

This was my 100th show! Jerry ended up in the hospital after the gig w/bronchitis I heard...we were pretty close to stage , luckily ...took 4ever to get home to AC area.....

Nice walk. But worth it I'd say... Two friends of mine stopped by and wanted me to hitch with them to Englishtown from South Brunswick. My dad wouldn't let me go! 😲🙄 I was 13 to be fair, and my buddies about 16.

Saw this show on my Honeymoon! One of many, great show, a little hot out! The ring of trailer bodies left something to be desired but great performance by Dead and also NRPS.

This is a sad story ! Left the day before, Almost flipped my VW beetle not to miss the exit up on 2 wheels camped out in someone's yard pretty close to the gate after parting all night we were pretty hungover but a couple of beers later ready to rock & get in early right up front 50 feet from the stage just watching tons of people pouring in behind us we all took a tab from some dude on way in I was feeling great but my younger cousin was not and had to get him out of there to make a long story short just got to see riders & tucker and get my cousin home 2 hrs north I wanted to kill him . Missed the best show ever but saw many others & lots of the JGB.peace
