Hello and welcome to Bert the Stormtrooper Reviews! Today we're taking a look at a different take on the Battleship game and a bit of rare version of it; the Radio Shack Electronic Sea Battle! There is very little information on game online, how to program and play it, and since this is the version I had as a kid, I wanted to share programming instructions, tips and my thoughts on this fantastic version of this game!

I love this game! I never had any version as a kid and always wanted Battleship but I don’t think my parents could afford it. I bought my Sea Battle Game from Craigslist a pristine, maybe used a handful of times for $10 just played it last night with my husband! .

Hey Bert! Nice to see your video! I found my old battleship in my parents' house and just made it work but didn't remember how to enter the ships to start playing. Your video was really helpfull! By the way, mine is Tandy Sea Battle. My father bought it in France back in 1989 but it is exactly the same as yours. Thank you again!!

This is awesome! I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly but my grandpa had a game called "Sonar Sea Battle", which might have just been a different version of this... it had a slightly different 2-second jingle when you turned it on, which has been stuck in my head to this day - either way, very cool!

It's possible he had the Saitec or Scicys version; same game, different distributors. It works make sense that an overseas version would play a different start up tune than the US National anthem. Thanks for watching!

My friends, two brothers had this as present on some Christmas Never understood why we didn't play more of this. I thought it was so cool game back then with the sounds all. I think I never played this alone against the machine itself. Maybe we outgrew it fast? Then again now 30 years later I still think it's pretty cool.

I had that exact model as a kid I still have it.. but its not a RadioShack version.. it was called something like this .. Saitek sea Battle electronic Battleship game ( don't know why it wasn't a RadioShack we had RadioShack here also.

Hi. I bought this game second hand. Only some of the buttons work for the programming part so I want to open it up and see what's wrong. Surprisingly, I can't find any screws. Any idea how to take apart? Thanks!

There's one screw inside the battery compartment and another under a rubber plug next to the battery compartment. Thanks for watching!

I just found this same game in my closet. Planning on playing it with my son. Mine was Saitek brand, but the graphics are identical.

I have one of these, sadly the battery leaked years ago, I don't know if it can be fixed

How bad is the corrosion? Many times it can be cleaned out or the contacts replaced. Want me to take a look at it? Send me a pic.of the battery compartment.

@@BertTheStormtrooper oh well, that was unexpected, seems like the leak somehow cleaned itself, all that I found were some slightly corroded battery contacts, not all that red rusted battery acid. I placed some new batteries on it and it actually worked

According to my mother the leak happened 30 years ago, one or two years after the game was purchased

It's an electronics supply store we had in the US for many years. They always had their own brand version of popular electronic toys & games as well. They went out of business a few years ago. By then, they had been reduced to nothing more than a crappy cel phone store. Thanks for watching!

This is the Radio Shack version of “Electronic Battleship” called “Sea Battle”, and it was a ripoff of “Electronic Battleship”. Since this game was made, Radio Shack at the time sued Milton Bradley and Hasbro for using the game without permission. After Hasbro won the court battle, Radio Shack no longer making this game, because it was a carbon copy of “Electronic Battleship”.
