This video demonstrates the construction of a 0-dimensional hinge and ball-joint.
Usage: it can serve as hinge or ball-joint
Pros: it can be pretty strong (not the strongest though, see pin swivel joints for strongest, although those can't be ball joints)
Cons: it's pretty heavy for it's strength.
How it works: Because the "bendyness" of a block is determined by its mass and scale, a 0x0x0 block will have infinite "bendyness," meaning that it will bend in any direction without any friction, or any force caused by elasticity.
The mass of the 0-scale ballast will determine its translational locking strength, i.e how much we can dislocate in the x-y-z coordinate plane and not the angle of each part without breaking. The mass of the ballast should be proportional to the mass of the surface that attach it to prevent the surface from "bending" away from it (translationally)
Two ball joints make a hinge joint, (i should've made the ball joint example first since that makes more sense)
Why it is strong: because making deformable surface plates very heavy makes them strong, that is why this design is strong. *note that if plates are not collisionless, they should have an increase in strength. (BUT plates with collision can be damaged by tick damage, so there is a tradeoff)
Reminders: collisionless plates have all of their mass centered at one point, make sure edit this point to be in an more beneficial location using BST & wrench tool. COM too far away from the plate could cause issue.
