I'll give it another try I guess! I was able to make one fountain pen earlier this year after years of trying. I've been trying to replicate it but just destroying all the ebonite in the process. I guess it was luck but my biggest problem might be using metal drill bits as I then have less thread because of the angle of the tip. And dull tools too...

Just subscribed, just bought some nibs as i want to make a fountain pen for a lived one. I have both a metal and wood lathe. I have the m10 tap and die but i dont know what the internal thread tap i need. Im going to use african blackwood for the nib holder.

Is Aluminite blanks good to use as practice blanks?

This is a great video and I learned al lot about dimensioning the Nib housing. So much that I created a 3d model and drawing file for it in Solidworks.
