Great video!!! I was going to buy the X92 but seen it had a Nand flash for the storage... I’ve had boxes with nand flash and I hate the way the split the storage into 2. Is there a version with Emmc flash?

For Android, probably. But all Android boxes are essentially toys compared to Intel or AMD multicore CPUs and professional multitasking, multiwindowed, multithreaded operating systems. WIN/Linux/Apple OS big boy operating systems can run streaming and game playing too and run Android OS apps with dozens of emulators. For all that, Android is a fun OS to use with your toys and useful too.

Apart from overheating the H96 pro plus has a known issue with faulty power supply that caused it not to boot up and i also heard it had some freezing issues when upgrading to 7.1 android

Yes I like the H96 Max with android 7.1 update it's very fast compared to these. Next week I will have the best tv box under $200.

Hi Chigz, just wondering if you tested 4k video in Kodi with the Zidoo H6 Pro. Another online reviewer found stuttering and colour problems with Kodi but not in Zidoo's own media player app. Keen to know if you experienced the same issue.

After 3 days working i cant recommend H96 BOX after session 4-6h of watching KODI this box just get overheat and freezee, a lot of ppl says this box just die after 1 month of using, can u recommend a box who will not die after using for 10h day after day? Thank u for or replay! and ur heart! :)

Yes it looks like a good box but I have not reviewed the TX9 so I could not include it without testing.

I think that the best for less than $50 is the H96 Pro 2G/16G. Have been running it as hard as my yundoo Y8 4G/32G. You need a wired mouse to setup a remote on your phone like Cetusplay. Runs 7.1.2 and have had 0 issues with any streaming service or emulation. I like it as much as my Y8 for less than half the price. DO NOT INSTALL SUPER USER unless you have a male to male USB and a computer to reflash the firmware. Running the Mali-t820 and the Y8 runs the 860. Both have widevine. If only we could get 4K.

The H96pro got a crappy power supply and thus many people had problems with it the Amber it produces was not enough so it i have heard of many occassions when it would not power up properly,i also heard it had some freezing issues when updating to the 7.1 android upgrade

As you have a 1080p TV, the TV box will allow you to watch 1080p content. You can play 4K videos but it will not look as good as your TV is not 4K.

Very useful round up. What you say about over heating is interesting. Given that number 1 has a great build quality it seems to be a natural choice for people who play a lot of games that may over heat the unit. Does it have a "big brother" unit with more ram and storage? I don't know if it would fit on the screen, but a table with specs at the end of round ups would be useful for future reviews.

kc0isw yea I've had a tx5 pro that Chigz recommended for a good while now and it still runs fantastically. If anything it's always just the kodi plugins that break/stop working that let android TV boxes down but the hardware has been fantastic. KZbin on it is tons better than my Sony TV version too.

This is commonly seen in computers and laptops. A new CPU is released which runs more powerful on each individual core and effectively can be faster than older CPUS. In our case, very recently, the S912 Octa-core has been beaten by the new Allwinner's H6 Quad Core.

When it states International version it means, this product was originally made only for CHINA so it would be in Chinese with no play store and as the product, they decide to release an International version or global version which will then be in English and have the google play store.

Chigz Tech Reviews no problem. Quick question. Most of the boxes in this category have the same S912 processor and specs, the main difference being the android operating system version 6 vs 7.1. Is that what makes them have different benchmark scores?

The benchmark test will test 4 main areas to determine the overall score: 3D Performance RAM Performance CPU Performance UX (User Experience/Firmware) Also no 2 boxes have the same firmware. So if you have 2 boxes, same specs, same version of android 7, the firmware will still be different. It will be optimised differently and hence produces different results. So the higher the benchmark better the overall performance:
