Today I tested some Federal Auto Match, CCI Standard velocity, and some Norma Tac22. I was surprised at the results!

Federal Automatch generally works best in most of my rifles. American eagle copper plated hollow points also works very well. Those are fairly inexpensive, and also work well on small game.

I’m glad you have had luck, they’re the worst short of Winchester M22

I like Norma .22, but it is a little pricey these days...if I was starving, had one shot to get a squirrel, I'd like Norma...the CCI standard velocity is right behind the Norma, it would fetch the squirrel, also...the Automatch is our primary plinking ammo, we put up with the hot/cold rounds inasmuch the ammo is cheap as we can find...we also have on hand Aguila, Fed Champion, Thunderbolts, Mini-mags, Stingers, Velocitors, Quiets, and a half dozen other brands...we shoot on a weekly basis, go through thousands of .22 rounds a year, and have our opinions...we tend to stash our 'better' ammo, and cheap bulk rules our range days...your mileage may vary...

If you just want to plink then Federal Automatch bulk pack is good
