Do you ever turn it all the way up to 100%? I was thinking about the XS2500 for my 2x4 cause I don't want to give the plants too much light. That's why I don't understand how some of these lights are equal to a 500 watt hps, but a 2x4 tent is really meant for a 400 watt hps. I've been using a T5 and want to upgrade to an LED but there's so many and a lot of the info on Amazon and eBay are off. A lot of the lights will be good for a 2x4 but they say it's for a 4x4 and when you look at their par readings you can tell the tent size is wrong cause it'll be 1000 in the center and 340 in the corner on the par meter.

The SP3000 was my first grow light. I bought it and hung it over half of a 5X5, once I got started, I added another one. I added a tent and upgraded to FC-E8000 which is definitely more light than my two SP3000 tent, but the quality level from the SP3000 always seems to be just a tad better than the FC-E8000 tent. I am looking now to replace the two SP3000 with another larger bar light and move the SP3000s into 2X4 tents for a mom tent and tester tent.

I love my 4x2, so discreet and perfect for 3 decent sized plants+dehumidifier (around 430g/grow). If I needed a new fixture for my 4x2 I'd probably buy two Viparspectra XS1500 Pro (2x155 Watt) as I find very useful the possibility to raise the power (some Sativas express themselves better with more light intensity) and I like the fact that with power decreasing over the years I'd still have plenty of what the plants need in 3-4 years. And if I had the money I'd set up a second 4x2 with Migro Aray 4, its very efficient power consumption is astounding ( all the people who own one are very happy with it) and the price is so competitive. I'd love to see an Aray 4+ with 320 Watt (as in one of your discussions with Dr. Bruce Bugbee he mentioned "hemp" could take a lot more light intensity than other plants and that is where the ballgame seemed to go: the possibility to experiment with more intensity).
@roywarriner84419 ай бұрын
I have an Aray 4+red in one 4×2 and a Aray 4 Pro in another. No need to replace them but if I did I would go with the XS 2500 rather than two XS 1500's. It's basically two 1500's with a spacer between them. I think the driver can be mounted outside the tent. They were on sale on Amazon in the new year, it's over now but still a good price for those lights.
@exshenanigan23339 ай бұрын
I was thinking about the same after watching Shaun’s and DrMJCoco’s reviews. I was completely set on lm301h evo diodes but at XS1500 Pro’s price point it was hard to beat. XS2500 PRO was a little more than 2 XS1500 PROs on Amazon so I think going with 2 1500 PROs may make more sense. If something goes wrong mid flower you still have light until you can figure something out if you’re running 2 1500s but if 2500 goes bad you’re down to grocery store bulbs for at least a couple of days (considering most people are not hoarding grow lights :))

3 Mars Hydro SP3000 in a 6' X 4' enclosure, on my 3rd year. Probably only need 2 as I can't turn the dimmers more than 60% or I get light burn/bleaching even at 24 - 30 inches from canopy. Had the first one in a 2 X 4 tent and honestly it was way more light than needed. From what I have experienced the SP3000 can light a 4 x 4 space. Got them on sale for $239 a piece can't be happier as they out grow the 1600 watts HPS I was using with like 10% of the heat and half the wattage.

Hi Shane. Might I make a recommendation for your upcoming 4x4 video(s)? Try to differentiate between lights with maximum outputs that require added co2 and lights which don’t require co2. It seems like exceeding 1000 ppfd at max is common but the average tent grower probably doesn’t need anything over 1000, maybe more like 900 max. Just a thought. I really appreciate your great content. Keep up the good work.
@GarlicClove-k3t9 ай бұрын
One other quick thought. The wattage consumed at various operating percentages would be really helpful too. For example, what wattage would be consumed if a light was dimmed? Would the calculation always be total wattage subtract the dimming percent? 500 watts run at 50% = 250 watts? Is that how it always works or do other factors change the number?

I do find it funny that in the three test for best lights this year especially when it come to budget and quality not one list had any of the AC Infinity lights including their newest and best Ionframe series (commercial grade tent lights) which is an absolutely amazing light for the price especially when most other companies tend to double the price that AC Infinity has for the same equivalent lights. Honestly it’s the best light I’ve personally ever owned and still use to this day, mines for a 4x4 but there are other sizes. Hope all is well Shane and hope you have an amazing upcoming month, Namaste.
@tthtonekid9 ай бұрын
It isn't very efficient and puts out a ton of heat along with the light. Just look at the par maps they release themselves. You gotta bake the center of your tent to get sufficient light to the sides and corners.

Atreum 320 and the FC4000 have a higher ratio of red which makes them great for flower. AC EVO is a Good piece too.
@ArcaneBuddhist9 ай бұрын
@@tthtonekid actually it doesn’t put out a lot of heat, the light I’m talking about you can remove the driver from the back and on top of that the driver it’s not heating my room up since I have a small clip fan (less than $20) running on low on it and never had any heat issue, you can also lower heat in a grow tent using humidity which I do and my tent has never gone over 77 degrees Fahrenheit, you can also open tent vents to help over heating or grow in in colder months to naturally counteract it. I’m sorry if you have over heating issues but if you don’t have thing’s completely balanced out then yes you’ll get overheating naturally and on and you’re supposed to put it at lower levels then other lights because remember it’s in the description it’s a Commercial Grade meaning extremely powerful and intense not only that remember there’s IR LEDS in there too which naturally create a bunch of heat lol. Shane and Bruce Bugbee have both explained and showed in experiments all of this but it’s quite basic knowledge. Oh and also take into fact if you grow in colder months your house heater will also be constantly adding heat to your house and room and me personally that still hasn’t raised my grow tent heat from 77 degrees Fahrenheit with a humidifier constantly keeping it at a 1.3 kpa VPD level (for veg stage). My plants have absolutely loved the light and I’ve never had any burning issues either. Honestly I’ve never heard of anyone else other than you have heat issues with the light and I mean absolutely no disrespect by that, but out of hundreds of reviews I’ve never heard of that issue happening. Oh and btw every company that has removable drivers even directly states if your having heat issues place the driver outside the tent which I have since day 1 and just so you know I have a pretty basic setup too: tent, two clip fans for inside the tent, 1 clip fan covering the driver, my Ionframe, humidifier and an in-line fan place outside my tent as well with a basic fabric pot setup lol. I truly wish you luck on your next grow and if I misunderstood what you ment then I apologize I’m responding to how it sounds to me. Have a great upcoming week, Namaste. Oh and one last thing it is highly efficient even running with Samsung LM301H EVO diodes the most efficient diodes on the market literally lol.
@ArcaneBuddhist9 ай бұрын
@@stangcobra592 maybe so but density is a bit higher than most other company’s when it comes to AC EVO. Of course not disrespecting other companies just from proof from growers that use a lot of different companies lighting and even in their opinions it’s made end results denser.

@PhillyJuggalo bruh just using the most efficient diodes doesn't make your light the most efficient. That's why migros lights put a lot of others to shame using old Samsung diodes. Just look at the coverage uniformity posted by ac infinity for the evo 4 for example. 1400 in the center to 682 on the edges. This disparity gets even worse the closer you get to the canopy. Not saying it's a bad light but that's why it's not on here.

The HLG probably has more like 2.65 now. Same goes for most of the others. It makes them look worse when compared to Lights that have been tested recently.

I think it would be nice to see the Medicgrow 500 watt Minisun-2 compared. I have never used a better light in a 2 x 4 tent. It is the best bang for your buck. It costs less and performs better than every light on this list. The 320 watt version doesn’t even belong in this class. Maybe because it blows the doors off the Migro…

U don't need high wattage anymore. Newer lights are far more effective. If u want higher power....rdj bounds is the brand. For a cheaper yet strong light. I've heard they get warm, though. Idk if they can be ran at 220 for cooler operating temps.

What about the vipar spectra 4000. I know vipar list it as a 5 x3 but that was 4-5years ago it fits in a 4x2 easily. I mean it’s only 39” x11” if it was in a 4x2 it be a foot narrow and almost a foot shorter. Vipar messed up putting a 5x3 for it cause it is a 4x2 KILLER!!!! U put hlg 350r in and hlg says it’s for 3x5 why not understand how vipar spectra xs4000 isn’t the light for a 4x2
@josephspezia35099 ай бұрын
It's only advertising, boasting what it can do. Your right for operating it in that space. I believe the xs pro 3000 has taken that space. They run cooler and drivers are detached w long cords. I use & love my viparspectra

Chilled Growcraft x6 mini is still king
@bobroberts93069 ай бұрын
I needed to upgrade my grow light for a 4 x 2 tent and was seriously considering ChilLed's x3 mini. But then, Ac Infinity came out with their ion frame bar lights. They have Samsung LM301 H EVO diodes and are much cheaper than ChilLed- so I bought the EVO3 for my 4 x 2 grow tent. Big mistake, although a nice light, it didn't properly provide enough light intensity around the perimeter of the grow area. I'm now interested in the new 2024 ChilLed x3 330w light. For my current new grow, I have added AC's 16" supplemental lights in hope of much better results. After this grows results, I'll decide on whether to keep the EVO3 or go with a ChilLed Growcraft light. Honestly, if AC's light was 20" x 40" and over 300w, it possibly could be a great 4 x 2 light. Anyway, 420 sales will probably be happening when my current grow finishes and I'll seriously consider purchasing a ChilLed growcraft light. Any advice and thoughts concerning ChilLed's light would be appreciated. Thanks
