The "U" in the model name stands for UHD 😉 (and needless to say the "T" stands for the TV tuner) we used to deal with Samsung monitors a lot (we were an authorized refurbisher) so I am familiar with their naming structure

I'm in between the TU7000 and the TU8000. I feel like the 700 will work well for me but I have a few reservations about it. Its primary use would to be playing ps4 and light streaming. I've read the 800 series has a few more adjustments to game mode which links up the refresh rate and frames outputted better. I mostly don't want to see blurred or teared images when playing games. I feel like the 700 would be fine and much more affordable. What is your opinion on the TU700 and its gaming abilities? Side note, do you know if there is latency when playing games and using the optical output for a soundbar?

Yeah. That's kind of my plan too. So few TVs right now have HDMI 2.1. I have a 240hz and a 120hz TV but to be able to play 120FPS and 120hz, you have to have a TV with HDMI 2.1, so... I'll get one next year. There aren't really any games that take advantage of the increased FPS right now anyway for the Xbox. Just Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Dirt

You won’t be able to take advantage of 120FPS games, however, most games will be maxed up at 4K 60 FPS for the first year or so after launch, so you won’t have to worry about having a 4K 120Hz TV. A few years later you can upgrade to a better TV if you want to take advantage of the 120 FPS games.

@@bryankowalczyk3982 Yeah don’t worry you’re good. This TV is generally one of the better budget TV’s you can buy right now. It has everything you need, I myself am going to be using it for the PS5 and I can’t wait. I don’t care too much about 120Hz right now, it’s better to wait until the price drops once 8K becomes more common (unless you have the money right now). But you’ll love the picture on this TV, and on top of that Samsung never fails when it comes to gaming. The input lag is probably the best on any budget 4K TV right now.

In my opinion, no. Is it nice? Sure. But I’d rather have a $400-600 TV that looks solid than spend the extra money. The HDMI 2.1 TVs you need for 120fps/120hz on these next gen consoles is not cheap. I’ll wait a few years until the price comes down.

The Samsung RU7100 is only marginally better than the Samsung TU7000. The RU7100's contrast ratio is slightly higher, it has a higher peak brightness, and it has better viewing angles. On the other hand, the TU7000 has a faster response time, better black uniformity, and it's better at handling gradients. What are you going to be using it for? And have you found a better price? If so, it seems largely they aren’t much different so personally I would likely go for the better TV if you’re just using it for watching streaming video and maybe some gaming

The TCL QLED series is better but cost more money. This one I am perfectly happy with for the price and use for my gaming TV in my office. Both have low latency and game mode so they work well for that, and even though this one isn't QLED, the picture still looks good to me

For me personally, not enough to spend the extra money. It’s nice but only I think two games even support it right now so you won’t realize it anyway in most cases. Xbox only supports it on black ops Cold War and dirt I believe. But ps5 not sure. You can look up the supported titles and then all new titles won’t be 120fps/120hz on 4K

Yeah. I play Warzone all the time and it doesn’t bother me one iota and I have a 120hz phone and I used to play on a 144hz monitor. Is it nice? Yeah. It is. Is it worth the extra cost If you don’t want to pay for it? No. The bigger increase would be the 120fps at 4K which is a new thing and this TV won’t do it because you need a HDMI 2.1 port which is also on more expensive TVs. You can dial it back to 1080p and upscale at 120fps though I think

This video is 7 Months old, I been looking for a video about this TV & it’s Game Mode for *months*! Been having my TV for half a year and honestly every month I change my settings. This TV isn’t perfect for gaming at all in my opinion. 350$ is some what a good deal but at this point I might get a monitor. Dont like that Game Mode removes the quality of the picture. The TV will run 60 and 120fps no problem. The thing that the TV doesn’t have is a 120hz refresh rate. But does it play 4K games at 60/120fps? Whatever you has for input dictates the frames per second. The screen controls the refresh rate. Sure a 120hz refresh rate is more ideal because of smoothness and motion blur but cost more money. I olay call of duty on this TV on my Xbox and it looks fine to me. I don’t have any complaints especially for the money

@@BearGurz yes. I was doing some more digging and wanted to address this. It will do 4K at 60FPS but not 120FPS because it doesn’t have HDMI 2.1 - it has 2 HDMI 2.0 ports. But I also looked today and it only has a 6ms response time which is pretty darn good I think for a TV in this price range. Again though, I personally game on mine now and I’m satisfied with it. No complaints.

On paper they look pretty similar. Just depends on whether you want a montior or a TV. Both will work with the PS5 at 4k 60FPS/60hz

You’re welcome. I’m glad it was helpful. As far as getting blurry? I don’t think so. Compared to a really expensive and nice 120hz or 240hz TV? Maybe so. I love playing Warzone on it and I have zero complaints especially for the price. Is it as good as a $1000 TV? No. It’s not. But I don’t think reasonable people have they expectation. Is it a really good TV that I’m totally happy with for the price? Absolutely. Would recommend it to anyone, even gamers. I play games on it all the time and I like it
