Slog2 has been replaced by SLOG3. It’s a better mode because you can shoot with a lower base ISO (among other things) than you could with slog2. Those picture profiles are not an option anymore either.

very informative video! what would you recommend more the camera built in rec709 lut or gamma assist when shooting in slog 3? which more preferable in shooting slog3 accessing it using flexible ISO or changing the settings in the picture profile to slog3?

I prefer using the picture profiles. And I use Gamma assist when using picture profiles, but keep in mind that stuff is over saturated at that point.

@@CamberFilmSchool Thanks dor the reply. Technically, you can't use user assignable LUTs with Picture Profile, right? You'll be forced to shoot in flexible ISO in order to use your imported LUTs.

Great video, thank you. I have set it to 25p but it doesn’t allow me to change shutter speed from 1/25 saying it’s not possible in Intelligent Focus mode. I want to change it to 1/50. Can you show me how to do this pls?

Focus modes shouldn’t affect the shutter speed. Sounds like you’re in one of the automatic aperture/shutter video modes. Switch to manual and you’ll be able to change it.

It’s not as good as RAW photos but it will give you a little better dynamic range than no PP

Thank you for the video! I am not able to adjust (usually lower) the ISO when shooting videos outdoor. They are usually over exposed unless I change to Auto instead of Manual. Do you have any tips on how I can change or fix this issue? :)

I don't think the ISO is going lower when you switch to auto. What is likely happening is your camera is either increasing the aperture or shutter speed or both when you switch to Auto. Getting an ND filter (like sunglasses for your lens) will allow you to block more light out without changing the aperture or shutter speed. I have videos on the channel about ND filters.

I’m not sure cause I haven’t used the a6700 yet. But as long as you have good lighting, you won’t be able to tell the difference.

I wouldn’t use any creative effect when filming. Thats the kind of stuff you want to add later on. Otherwise it’s baked into the footage and hard to change.

@anubhabbiswas5393 the a7C came out in late 2020 and the a74 came out in October 2021. Slog 3 was still new back then. The a7C2 came out two years after that in September 2023.

@anubhabbiswas5393 I know that. And I’m saying that slog 3 is better than slog 2 which is why they probably didn’t include it in a camera that came out 3 years later. They had both on the a7C because it was a new addition back then. Just like you don’t find an slog 1 version on the a7C.
