This is the future . I've been in so many bands that we sounded great together , but we all ended up hating each other and couldn't stand being in the same room to play gigs. That's every band I was ever in . Could be me? Through the miracle of electronics i have preloaded bass ( that I play) and drums into separate tracks outputting bass signal to 750 watt bass amp/ drums routed to large pa along with my vocals. Guitar straight to marshall.I am glad I lived this long!!!!!!

Carl, my brotha! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! 15 years ago I cried for a year straight after my very unique and old "S.S. Stewart" acoustic guitar, which I found in used guitar store, was murdered one night when I was staying at my parents' house on a cold evening, put the guitar in it's case on the other side of the bed I was sleeping in, not realizing that there was a heat register there, melting all of the glue in the guitar, which I discovered to my horror the next morning when I woke...As soon as I watched this video, and heard you strum that Maton EMD6...the freakin' hair on the back of my neck stood straight up...It's sounds EXACTLY like my dead guitar! I immediately went onto Reverb, found one, bought it, and soon it will be mine!!! So pumped!!! Thank you!!! I originally found this video because I was researching more info on my new Headrush Looperboard (also such a fun new toy), that I just traded my old school Boss RC-50, and RC-3 peddles in for. I have been using a similar live set ups to yours for my performances these past years, but am completely revamping my whole set up this year (just pre-ordered the Neural DSP Quad Cortex, too), so I appreciate the inspiration and the exposure to the Maton! Great music, btw! (My stuff, if you're interested: www.gunsgunsmusic.com). Cheers, Carl!

I've had the Headrush looper and the RC300 and actually decided to go with the RC300. I absolutely love that in the rhythm section the boss has the Just Hi-Hat option as rhythm and I used that as a live click. When I begin smacking my guitar to make kick and snare sounds it all glue's together really nicely. It is so easy because musically it matches every song so I'm not scared of the audience hearing it meaning no weird routing issues to deal with trying to hide the click like on the headrush, and all of my loops are super in time every single show. I use in ears in my rock band and don't really like using them doing singer/songwriter stuff. A Side note it is time for Company's to start paying you for this because I just went out and bought a OC 5 and the Wompler pedal after watching these vids.
@carlwockner Жыл бұрын
thanks for the comment mate! I love this - so many people overlook the RC300 cus its an older pedal, but its very stable and fantastic to work with. Honestly the Headrush and even the RC600 are quite high end / professional series loopers and you really need to be specific with settings in these to get what you want out of them. hahaha - ONE day Ill get a sponsorship off them hopefully!

@@AlexiPrevitali not a clue - but quantization will only work as good as it can work in any looper or daw. I don’t like it personally since it specifically shifts hits to where it “thinks they should be” which is great if the loops are out of rhythm, but bad if you have good rhythm and specifically want it to play exactly what you recorded.

Nice one. is there any way you can change Rhythm and Tempo of back beat? How many instruments you can play in this setup?
@carlwockner3 жыл бұрын
As in, after you’ve recorded it? Yes I believe you can sync the loop to the tempo, but if you accidentally bump the tempo button when you don’t plan to you it’s hard to get back. I disabled mine for this reason and also because I don’t use a click or specific tempo lock. You can have as many instruments as you like.

Hi Carl, is there a noticeable difference between the sound quality of the Headrush Looperboard and the Boss RC-300 when just playing through an amp/PA system? I've heard the overdubs are clearer on the Headrush Looperboard, just wondered if you'd agree? Thanks.
@carlwockner2 жыл бұрын
It all depends on how clean your signal is, but yes it’s cleaner on the Headrush. You barely notice it at all unless it’s in a studio setting or on a large stage system, but part of the tone change comes from the RC300 having a built in limiter on the output and the headrush doesn’t, so you need to be much more precise with your gain staging on the headrush otherwise you’ll distort easy

Thanks mate! the problem with going zero to 100 on a looping rig is knowing how you want your workflow to be, and also working out routing / signal chain / and IO settings. So many pedals on the market - and all of them are very different. Looper X is a good option for sure, but just know that just like playing guitar or any instrument, looping is its own beast - and there's a learning curve and experience that you just cant skip. All the best tho brother!!
