I have been homeschooling, well since I was informed of the dept. of education and the school board members have been promoting the far leftist ideologies and allowing pornographic reading materials in schools and condemning religion. Became very aware during the pandemic, felt betrayed by my school board and teachers. My local school district still receives the cash flow for my kids, because they are still attached to the school system. To avoid that, you must go thru a Christian based homeschool.

The department of education is a bloated institution filled with bureaucracy. It has way too many employees and they constantly ask for money and there no follow up or accountability of that money. Allowing states to take care of education themselves will be so much better and cheaper per pupil. Th department of education collects more money per pupil for public schools than private schools, yet the kids in public schools can’t pass state mandated tests. Despite kids not passing state exams, they are passed onto the next grade. States will be able to choose their own requirements beyond what classes are state mandated. I hope Trump makes it a law that the states must provide detailed itemized information of expenses for parents to view at any time on the states website. Those expense reports should breaks down Operating expense, electric, gas, food. Projected improvements such as paving and repairing things. Renovations or remodeling projects etc. I think the states will do a much better job of accounting for the money and spending it wisely. They can hire more teachers and pay a better salary. Perhaps find college students to volunteer to tutor students that are struggling. People seem to complain about schools but don’t really care to express interest like they should. I think limiting the power of the department of education will be a blessing in disguise!!!
