Hello Jason! My name is Kimberly and I’m starting a KZbin channel to read books to children. I am a wee bit older and an acclaimed Children’s Book Author. Hpwever, learning to film and use the Sony ZV E 10 has been quite challenging, until I discovered you. I truly appreciate your slow and insightful videos that inspire me to move forward 🎉I set my camera exactly as you recommended and am excited to see the amazing results! You are my hero, thank you from the bottom of my heart😊

this was a very good, comprehensive review. might go ahead with a used sony because they aren’t priced that differently. thank you!

Very informative! I’m a fan of these budget comparisons. It is more relatable for us who are just in for the hobby. More power to you! Please keep this going!

Thank you very much for this complete review of this three lenses. I think I will go for the sony. Apart from the other things the sharpness in the tests you did performed much better, in my opinion.

Great comparison. Thank you. 85 is my favorite focal length for portraits!
@Jason_Hermann4 ай бұрын
Thanks Amy and I love the 85mm and the 135mm is a huge favorite of mine as well. A bit harder to use, but even more 3d pop!! I sold my Canon EF 135mm f/2 L Lens, so I currently need to replace! I have the Canon R5 Mark II coming, so I don't want to commit to any crazy expensive glass just yet ;)

When looking at focus transition, it looks like the Sony focused on something other than the fairy lights. At 12:57, they look more blurry than with the other 2 lens.
@Jason_Hermann4 ай бұрын
It's just where I touched on the screen, some transitions were on the lights others were on the background bedroom area...

@@Jason_Hermann Thanks. Out of the 3, it would be the Youngno for me. USB firmware upgradeable, AF/MF switch, Custom Button, rubber gasket, smooth (not stiff) focus ring and finally, the tight fitting lens hood.

For the money it's a great option for sure and the distortion is pretty easy to fix ;)

These are all great, but also consider the TTArtisan 75mm f/2, you get 95% of the results of these at a much smaller size/price - I'm shocked by how good it is at this price/size!

Yes that is a good lens for the price, I sold my Zeiss Batis 85mm to get that 75mm and invest the remaining money on other gears. HOWEVER, although the the difference is not HUGE in day time, the auto focus and image quality drop significantly when it comes to low light environments. I personally do I lot of low light + flash portraits shoot and the flaring and ghosting is unbearable. I once again sold that lens and is currently using Yonguo 85mm. I would it really depends on the use, if you like to play with lighting equipment or low light photography, the price difference between TTArtisan and Yonghuo I’d definitely worth it !
@DigiDriftZone25 күн бұрын
@@ow0818 Interesting, I too do a lot of low light, but no flash and I found the flaring/ghosting well controlled, a lot better than Samyang lenses, though I haven't shot directly towards light sources, will bear this in mind, thank you.

This video is already made, so I can't really add anything, but I hear ya! Also I reviewed the Viltrox lens here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fn7UlISDeNeNirs a while ago and it's much larger and a bit heavier than these three lenses, so I decided not to include it.... The Meike is a f/1.4 so I would want to review it against f/1.4 lenses was my thought? I appreciate the feedback though, thanks!

Unfortunately I bough Yongnuo after watching one of these Youtobers. Well one thing that no one tries is to put a filter on and then the lens hood. Well, you can't do that with Yongnuo, it just doesn't fit. I tried 2 different filter with the same result. I contacted their support and they told me that the filter and lens hood will not work together! This is a huge design flaw IMO. That is the problem when you buy cheap! I wish someone had tested that before I bought the lens.
@Jason_Hermann4 ай бұрын
Yeah, sorry I did not even think to test that, but a lot of lenses I own are that way, so I don't really think it is that big of a deal honestly. Good call though to test for future reviews though! I would say it really depends on your use cases for sure and often times people use step up rings so their one high quality filter can be used on several lenses for example. In those cases you can't use the lens hood either. I would just return the lens if it's not for you... You can fit a slim filter on the Sony 85mm but it's still very tight and you need to remove the hood to make adjustments if needed.
@MA-no8tz4 ай бұрын
@@Jason_Hermann Thanks for the reply. I'm keeping the Lens, for the price it has a good IQ. I just wish that the manufacturer tested that as well. All I wanted to do it to put a CPL filter on it.

Thanks for the video. I just don't get why you don't just incude one simple side by side compariosion shot of 3 lenses... which might be the most informative and less effort thing to do in a review.
@cklppt3 ай бұрын
I watch the entire video still can't get an idea of how big the 3 lenses are compared to each other. Yeah of course I know the size spec, but how it actually look and feel when side by side?
@Jason_Hermann3 ай бұрын
Fair enough, I will update the thumbnail with a side profile shot of all 3 lenses when I get home from work, and thank you for the feedback! I did show each lens in hand, but to your point a direct size comparison was not really done. I cal tell you now that the Yongnou is by far the smallest lens out of the 3, with the Sony being the thickest diameter....
@cklppt3 ай бұрын
@@Jason_Hermann Thanks for the reply. I didn't expect that😂 Just a suggestion. You already did a lot of good work. Add a simple products side by side would be helpful and informative, just like your bokeh shot side by side.
@Jason_Hermann3 ай бұрын
Yeah, the video is already published so I can't do that, but I can change the thumbnail to show that at least, and I won't make that silly mistake again next time ;) Seams so obvious now, but I totally overlooked that somehow... All the best, Jay
