Of course Hedi Slimane pretty much had a reference for every single pieced he released but this is honestly just too blatant of a rip, much like the MNML denim. Sucks too because they obviously have the resources to make a dope affordable jacket. I just want to see one released that just isnt such a copy. Makes sense that these are the first jackets though, like their denim they need to bring in the funds to make different jackets and keep the brand afloat. So they reel you in with the SLP aesthetic and later release something a lil more original (in the end they are all just renditions of the perfecto). Looks good on you and im sure this will help out so many people but in reality most people will only see it as a SLP knockoff.

The varisty jacket has been around since the 50s, and the moto/riders jacket has been around since the 70s. Hedi did not "invent" both of these styles. Just because it doesn't have Saint Laurent on the tag doesn't mean it's a ripoff; my personal opinion. Great video, Joel!

In my opinion, spending over $4000 on a piece of outerwear isn't necessary at all, You're literally paying an extra $2500 to tag SLP in your fit Pics. Schott NYC is the original and is way more reasonably priced for what you're getting. In my opinion a good leather jacket is pretty easy to come by for under 300-600, L.A.C included. You can't discount a brand for doing what the people want, and the people want an SLP aesthetic. Keep your L01, and I'll keep my $4,700

Its rather humorous to see the amount of people who try to rag this, yet go out and buy mnml/represent or other brands that offer similar aesthetic to say fear of god with nothing to say. At the end of the day you're getting a real leather jacket, its going to be a lot better than anything you'd buy from h&m, topman or zara at a similar price point, which even at that price half the time are faux leather... I'm sure everyone would love to wear slp if they could but some of you need a reality check when it comes to money. Not every person out there has 4 stacks to drop on 1 jacket... even making 80k/yr you're talking nearly an entire months paycheck for a jacket... Get with it.
