Why was this game not advertised more?? I stumbled upon it yesterday and bought it for 7 euros! I completely agree with the review! It's takes the bests out of F-Zero and Wipeout and improves upon it! This feels like a true work of love of fans of both games. Careful though, once you start, there is no stopping. Don't forget to breathe! I haven't felt like that since a decade!

Tried the demo and few cars today since it's on sale on steam as of march 2021. Bought the game 20 mins later. That shit is dope.

I am playing it on the new pc at 4k ... what an amazing game just pick it up and you will be hooked AF hard game ... but absolutely worth it ... in one word ... Quality

Just got a laptop with a 120 hertz screen. Just want to mention that this game runs flawless on my 1060 with max settings and 120 fps. Its very well optimized. Together with the pumping sountrack playing this is a blast.

Certainly enjoyed this better than other AG racers I've played. Has the smoothest feel and graphics. I do wish there was a bigger scene for it. Ballistic NG has a nice moddng scene, but it felt quite rigid compared to Redout. Would have certainly been thrilled if Redout had a similar scene given its Unreal 4 foundation for gameplay. (I had loads of fun with HSX/G-Surfers track editor) Though, Redout is more of a tailored experience from what I can tell, so it's highly unlikely a modding scene would be user friendly, or reach the same authenticity easily.

Some negatives about the game as I played it for a very long time: -The polygonal graphics are great stylistically, but under the wrong lighting (even just the ship selection screen) the cars look bad; -Talking about lighting, in Steam you can unlock various styles and palettes for your car but the extreme reflectivity of the car always screws up its appearence; -Somewhat unoptimized, you'd think that with this choice of going low-poly would make it perfectly playable on low without all the particles, reflections and post-processing but it really doesn't. For everything else, yeah, this is as close as a truly competitive AG racing game PC can get, even new entries to the game will find it easy to get to grips with the controls enough to not slam uncontrollably at higher speeds like you would in BallisticNG and, even though I didn't have the opportunity of playing it, I imagine the Wipeout Omega Collection as well (they're on a whole floatier philosophy and a lot of maps require exponentially more skill to traverse at halberd and zen).

I've played quite a bit of this and I decided a long time ago that it is not one of the best Antigrav racers out there, not the best antigrav racer in the last 10 years, no qualifiers necessary: I have long said that Redout Enhanced is THE best antigrav racer there has ever been. Period. If this form of racer is something you get a kick from, and you don't have Redout Enhanced, change that situation at the first opportunity and thank the gods for being placed on this earth to experience it after you recover the speed and exhilaration of the experience.

Yeah, at those speeds. They're kinda blink and you'll miss them. Either you zoom passed them or they zoom past you. Sometimes you can see them floating for a bit if you match speeds, but then a turn comes and they're gone in one of two directions.

A matter of taste my man! :) Can't really compare them technically as while being in the same genre, Redout is simply a superior successor to the games like F-Zero (which is nothing bad).

Damn straight. The controls in Redout are dreadful, the controls in F-Zero GX are great. Who's idea was it to map accelleration to the right trigger? It should be the X/A button. Triggers should be the strafing, not the right analogue stick, it feels more natural that way.

They don't function exactly like F-Zero GX though, F-Zero GX has much tighter control.

@@CynicalGamingBlogTerry309 My only issue with FzeroGX is the broken physics system. Its out of control, literally. People who are really experienced with the game abuse it to no end. Snaking, powersliding, shift boosting, etc. Its just too much for me. It sometimes doesn't even feel like a racing game to me; it requires far too much mechanical input, kind of like a fighting game. In other words, Redout feels more "casual" but still challenging, whereas FzeroGX is just too techincal for my taste. I still play FeroGX btw, so don't take this as me bashing that game, I love it. I also wish Nintendo would make another Fzero game, but its wishful thinking at this point.
