Best Agricultural Drones - Can You Start a Business If You Are On a Tight Budget?

Hi guys. I’ve been working very hard to learn about being a good pilot and to understand what the farmers are looking for and can most benefit by. I live in Saskatchewan in Canada. The farmers that are likely to be prepared to implement the use of drones now are large farmers. They will have between 20 and 50,000 acres of farmland. I have equipped myself with a couple of phantom 4 pros and have a parrot sequoia on the way. I understand that it’s not a lot of equipment. My intention has been to use relationships that I currently have with farmers to begin working with them. This video may well be solid and important truth. To be honest though, it’s sort of made my heart sink. I don’t have a quarter million dollars to go buy equipment and software. My intention was to build a relationship and slowly grow with the farmer. I think growing with the farmer is important since I believe farmers do not yet fully understand the potential with drones. If I understand this video correctly, it would likely be a waste of my time to show up with what I do have. I’m not pouting by saying that, but rather trying to interpret what two guys that I happen to trust are saying. I don’t know if you even see these comments but I would sure like to somehow get a response. Part of my plan was also to somehow develop a relationship with some person who is already successful in this market and offer a royalty or some type of compensation to use their business plans and resources. If you guys do see this, I would sure appreciate some thoughts.

Hey Scott, similar situation here from Poland. I think these guys lost the idea that when you start a bussiness can not go full in. They spoke non sense for almost 30´. They proposing to build the house through the rough and it makes zero sense to invest so much just to try it out. Altough they did mention something, with a phantom 4 you can be limited to some crops and few other things, guess what? I am more than happy if I could start that way. Definitely the perspective on this video is completely wrong.

I live in the central valley CA and if you are going to offer services to a farmer then you can not go have assed farmers what to know that you know your stuff and they will pick up on it right away if you do not I am going all the way and have been talking to farmers to see what they want and have done the research and am spending a half a million dollars to show to the farmers that I do know my crap and getting my part 137 state of California pesticide license and liability insurance all that stuff shows the farmer that you have done the work to help him do you go see him buy a knock off cheap farm trac.tor or. Cheap sprayer or some other cheap piece of equipment remember he gets paid once a yr when his harvest comes in

this is a great idea ..drones and farming .... the problem is Farmers are not ready for this and will not pay for these services esp in this time and day when the gov keeps printing money and making everything so expensive .
