I have been trying to tell people this for the longest time! They think I'm crazy for risking my drone when I'm flying low in between trees and challenge myself daily doing pointless shoots. But it's all about learning your skills and perfecting your skills so you can get those harder jobs by being more daring and riskier because you are confident and be able to get those harder jobs that others will turn down.. This video is so good that I'm watching it for the second time in a row. Most people think you have to have the best equipment, the best. Everything in order to make money doing something. But yet, as long as you're able to utilize your equipment to the best of your ability and always looking to learn to be surprised. However, you can go

I just got the new Potensic ATOM and it's the best budget professional lvl drone available hands down. I've been flying every chance I get since I got my first decent drone the Holy Stone HS360S, this ATOM has completely increased my confidence in low flying. You really need a precise strong drone for low close flight from my limited experience. The Holy Stone HS360S is their best GPS drone with a new hard wired controller, but it's acceleration and stopping take to long and make tight maneuvers almost impossible, but the ATOM changed the game.

You really don't want to be too risky because even 1 crash can ruin your drone. It can be subtle too. You don't need to break anything but even a small impact can ruin the compass on the drone The other issue is when you get close to objects the drones sometimes will start drifting and behaving weird. They can literally crash themselves even if you have collision prevention I'm all for doing cool stuff for practice. Or I was until my drone crashed itself a few times. Now I no longer trust it

Paul I have to give you a big thank you for the time and effort you put into this to share all of this information. I got my Part 107 last year in Feb. After putting in a lot of practice I contacted real estate agents in the LA area to see if they needed a video created for their properties. But most never replied or they said they already had a videographer. But now, according to you, it's best to steer clear of real estate properties. But glad you mentioned Airbnbs. During my nine month South American journey from September of last year until June of this year I did some video marketing for a couple of Airbnbs, in Colombia, which included some drone footage. Then a more cinematic drone video of two cities in the north of Colombia. Just creating personal projects to experiment and build up my portfolio. I also worked with an architect in Lima, Peru who saw me flying my drone and asked if I could do some work for him which was a coincidence because this is one industry I had written down that I want to work in. Besides that, Airbnbs, resort marketing, solar panels and engineers are some other industries I'm very much interested in working but also construction jobs. Since returning to the States, I've had my attention on construction sites. I really want to get my feet wet in this field. *So if I want to get work, what would you recommend as a way of getting my first job?* I thought about getting the phone numbers of construction firms that are shown on construction sites and giving them a call/sending an email and offering them my services for free so they can see the value in what I am providing them. Then if they like what I offer we can continue to do business at a price. I just want to get out there and start putting my drone and skills to work. Thanks again for all the information you shared!

Hi Kenny I was reading your comment and I want to share with you my way of using drones for construction sites, I'm an architect and in the architectural firm I work in we use drones and 360° cameras to record the process of the construction site, most of the owners cant come everyday to the construction site to check the process of their house, so this helps them to see the process from every angle, so yes you should offer this drone service to construction sites, you should contact them and explain to them that with your drone you can record all of the process, so that the owners can check the construction site without the necessity of going directly to the site, you can record with your drone one day every week or something like that. good luck 💪

Thank you, Paul, for this excellent informative, down-to-earth, realistic information! I am a newly certified remote pilot, recently retired from 21 years as a teacher, and have created my first website. I fly a DJI Mini 2 SE, which I know is bottom line, but I feel that I can utilize the videography aspect to bring in a little money - which when saved, I can use to upgrade to a much more functional drone. I love flying and am not currently looking to make a lot of money. Just a little here and there which I can reinvest into my business by purchasing a more capable drone. I appreciate the information and tips you have provided here! I'm not an optimist - I am a realist. So the one Thing Ive learned about the "Tax Write off" I learned this the hard way and lost over 40k thinking that I could write it off. The deal is dont go out buying the best stuff ifbyour just startingbout and practicing thinking you could just write it off. Nope. You actually have to have to use it to bring money in. In other words you need to have a return on your investments such as equipment , education and travel to be able to claim it as a write off. Be ready to start a business who are your client's and how long will it take to start receiving payments. When you have that going then write offs are a go. I thought I could spend all thismoney in preparation to opening a business and be ablecto claim it, yet I had no funds coming in. I had several people tell me different things and didn't investigate it myself, and ended up closing down before I physically got started after spending the time and money thing I could write it off and use that money for operating costs. Learn from my ignorance. People throw that write it off around without telling you you have to have an income of any money from you business endeavor.

Any advice on how to learn how far I should test its limits? So far I got a drone app which gives me all the environmental advice as to whether I should fly, although it gives me advice based on my input. Neither... You'll need a Mavic 3 enterprise to do mapping. There are waypoints with the Mavic 3 pro, but nothing for mapping. Now if you learn to fly perfectly straight lines with 75/75 overlap and can fly manually, it is technically possible.

Make sure your business can showcase your skills, keep having weekly drone adventures in beautiful places to keep capturing epic imagery. Turn that imagery into a story on your site, turn it into a brochure. Make sure your business is listed in as many places as possible (try apple maps, we even forgot that) then enroll with companies offering drone jobs, and don't be afraid to go to networking events with cards and brochures in hand. If you have the motivation, you will get the work. You could also create a demo reel, but make it emotional.. talk about why you fly but showcase how you can help others/provide value too.

Are your courses available/applicable to Canadian residents?

Operations are applicable to anyone. In canada, if you fly a sub 250gram drone, you have more opportunity in Canada than the us.

Hello Mini 4 Pro! One day I’d love to have this drone. Never owned one - what a fun dream business!

12:05 or learn how to repair aircrafts on your own. I've been repairing my employer's drones for 2 years now entirely self taught and saved us hundreds!

Paul this is a great video and you seem to be very knowledgeable in this area. That being said, you need to shape up your beard. I am not trying to be mean, but the neck beard is not it. You could have a pretty decent beard, it just needs to be shaped up.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a KZbin video where somebody repeated themselves so many times this video could’ve been 10 minutes long and the same information could’ve been presented
