I just bought 15 of the new commercial Bulgarian magazines; reinforced - steel feed lips, steel front and rear locking lugs. They lack the steel spine and steel reinforcement around the floorplate but I think they are still a great magazine for price and quality.

Don't forget about Polish Tantal magazines (basically Circle 10 copy). I have some East German Bakelites, Polish Tantal, Circle 10 and Magpuls. I had to file the rear tab on the Magpuls to fit in my Arsenal 104FR but feed fine. I hope to try one of the metal Romanian Mags. I wish they made 20 rounders for AK74.

Good list. Covered pretty much all the ones I use. I haven't had any issues with the Tapco mags either. Heard all the horror stories about them, "they bulge in the middle of you leave them loaded"...not disbelieving but haven't seen it yet. There can always be one bad apple that slipped through QA.

I don’t know where you’re finding AK74 Circle 10 mags for $25-30. Try more like at least $40-45. Only shooter/range grade mags(i.e. Rusted/heavy pitting on locking lugs, deep gouges or extensive trench art.) would cost $25-30.

He remembers the olden days of early 2013 before 74 prices went insane. As do I; my first four pack of 74 mags with a surplus pouch was $50!

I highly recommend the Polish V-Project magazines, they're polymer and don't have any reinforcements but they work and feed flawlessly. IMO the best $15 mags you can get.

I was lucky enough to score 6 Russian Tula plum mags and 2 polish tantal mags this year! I have one Magpul mag, one commercial Bulgarian mag, and one promag. The feed lips on the promag broke the first day I took it to the range. The commercial mag and the pmag work fine.

While they are all decent mags, I do not agree that the Circle 10 is the gold standard or the best. Izzy is all I run and yes, they run a higher price tag, but you can still find NOS for good deals in all colors (Plum, true black and my fav Bakelite).

Considering the circle 10 mags and the Izmash mags are identical in construction it's pretty much a wash to say both are just as good as the other

Not a fan of the Bulgarian commercial mags. In my experience with them, they’re brittle compared to Magpul and Tapco mags. Tapco waffle mags tend to snag on things. Magpul mags are okay. Was excited when they came out with the reinforced Ak47 mags. Wish they would do the same for the 74 market. Anyway, I stock up on the Circle 10/21/25 mags instead. Yeah, they’re expensive, but they’re worth it. I have that peace of mind that the tabs won’t fail on me. Just my opinion.
@theAKGeek5 жыл бұрын
Not a bad opinion. Circle 10/21 mags are the world standard imo

That they are. Would be nice if Tapco made smooth AK74 magazines like they did for the AK47. Maybe some kind of copyright or design issue.

@@bronzeguy9839 i honestly like the old school ribbed tapco mags. I feel the ribs give the mag more strength. And they give you a very grippy texture to get ahold of when you are reloading.

Sosa 300 I already responded to a comment like this. The Izzy mags are virtually identical to the circle 21 mags. The Izzy mags are pretty rare when compared to the Bulgarian mags so it would be a waste to tell people to seek out rare magazines as their go to war option.
