If you kick the bottom half of the ball it'll bounce back and if you kick top the the ball will bounce forward. Even though the ball is unpredictable you can still estimate were it might go

If you have a high iq player that kicks well, knows how much power to put on a kick and what type of kick to use, Defenders have a shit time trying to prepare for it. Not only that but they have to be aware of the chasers of said kicks, where their help/teammates are in case it’s too risky to take the ball yourself and depending on the kick the unpredictable nature of the bounce of the ball. Sometimes they might be by themselves

I know you want them to get the ball but you dont understand positioning yet in rugby. If they hang back for the kick its gonna let the all blacks cancel on the kick and sprint forward but if they push up to fast and the full back is out of place then its gonna allow for the kicks to be successful :) The all blacks play at such a fast pace it makes other teams make stupid mistakes on defence when they expect a kick the all blacks pass and run instead haha
