In my work there is an aloe mother (I think it's a barbadensis) of at least 10 years old who was without irrigation for months due to the quarantine, she is already green and rehabilitated again, I have taken almost 10 children from her, the oldest ones looked like the mother aloe, but the little ones (which I already planted in their own pot 3 months ago) looks different, they have thinner, longer, darker green leaves and they have lost almost all the white spots at this point, it may be another kind of aloe or do they just look different because they are still small? 🌱🙏🏼

Thank you very much for sharing this because Chinensis is not edible.

I'm like 90% sure that is just an internet myth, unless my family (and specific populations) are just straight up immune to any poisons that it produces. We've been eating both for decades... It's true that the other ones are easier to harvest for food though. Once the peels are removed, they taste about the same.

Pareho silang may white spots kapag bata pa, pero mas maraming spots ang Chinensis. Madali ring mawawala ang white spots sa Barbadensis kapag nag mature na, sa Chinensis medyo matagal mawala.
