Gonna need some help on finding alternatives to the alternates for EHT Small Batch. Word has gotten out and John J Bowman SB is scooped up in my area as soon as they are put on the shelves. EW Single Barrel are no longer available in my area too. I heard they're now distillery exclusives. Those Blanton's alternatives blow my mind.

I have a Yellowstone Single Barrel FWGS Store pick 115 proof and it's amazing. Here in PA, EH Taylor, ER, Blantons, Weller are impossible to find.

I would 100% take Michter’s over Sazerac. Obviously the catch is the price, but I probably won’t even buy a Sazerac again. Just not that great IMO.

If you’re willing to pay a premium you can always get bottles at Captain’s Cellar, Prospect Liquor, Liquor World, etc. I prefer to be patient and pay retail or a smaller premium at a chain, but I live here…

Russell’s Reserve SB is probably one of my favorite single barrels I’d pick that as my replacement for Blanton’s.

IMO you can't compare a single barrell to a small batch. They are completely different.

Totally agree on the Evan Williams Single Barrel. I’ve had 2 bottles. One was good the other was “special.” I live in NC, so I am savoring my last bottle.

We get Wyoming here. It is a nice wheater, set up by the former Makers master distiller. Adds a second yeast for a ‘toffee’ note. Very solid bourbon - get the small batch.

Interesting on your Bowman pick. I always heard the single barrel was closer to Blantons and their small batch was same juice as EHT

Buffalo Trace products have become impossible to find in our area. I keep a few rye whiskies on hand and enjoy Russell's Reserve 6-year-old rye and Bulleit rye. I like Makers 46 but consider Larceny a better wheated bourbon for my taste. As much as I love Eagle Rare, I've been drinking Russell's Reserve for many years and it is always enjoyable. I tried a couple of bottles of Evan Williams SB and had some good ones and a few I didn't enjoy, so I gave up on it. I can find the regular Bowman Brothers but have never seen the John J. Bowman single barrel. I'd love to try it sometime. Blantons is overhyped and overpriced and I'm not a big Yellowstone fan. I will certainly try the Michters SB instead. Thanks for the great suggestions.

Wow....Evan Williams at that price now! I remember when David showed me the pic at Valentine and I was shocked. You can still find it here for $30 and under (not much) in Michigan

I've also heard (I can't say for myself because I've never had, much less seen a bottle) that Bowman SB is a good Blanton's replacement. Found the Bowman and snapped it up - now I'm sippin' it slowly because it hasn't been in my area for ~6 months. "Get it at Kroger..." SMH.

Let3s be clear: John J Bowman is the only replacement for BT, nothing else is as sweet and fruit forward like the BT catalog, and that's why they are "tatered."

I have all the BT , and EHT is my favorite so nothing can replace it lol. Sazerac rye can be found by the cases here in Chattanooga, tn. Also I can get WSR cheaper than the makers 46 here. But I agree on the other substitutes, especially the Yellowstone or michters for Blantons. love the channel 🥃🥃🥃

I'd say Penelope white is more similar than RR10 to ER. PW is 1 of my favorite bourbons ive found in the last few months, wish it wasn't an 80, that's the downfall
