The "REMOTE" port on the amp is not to link (Daisy chain) another amp. It's for a remote (Bass Knob). Yes you have one running through your RCA's yet the port is made for the OEM optional knob.
@Suchmxn3 жыл бұрын
Technically it’s used to control 1 or 2 or more amps to control the volume so he’s not wrong

@@Suchmxn well that only happens if your rca are input to that amp and they got a rca outputting to the other amp then bass knob controls both
@Iridiumcosmos2 жыл бұрын
@@Suchmxn I know this is a year old but that port is for the bass knob as OP said. It only controls the bass volume on that amp only. The term you’re getting confused with is “strapping” which is when two amps can be combined to double output power. But even then that’s usually controlled through RCAs or speaker wire.

This is ummm… hmm.. lol if your gain is 3/4 of the way up you’re in trouble. That means you’re getting hardly any input voltage. Turn radio close to max volume before clipping for most efficient tuning unless your amp doesn’t handle the max pre out of your radio or source unit. This will eliminate the possibility of input voltage spiking and hard clipping your amp/sub and causing some smoky issues. Also… you’re losing on the low end. Your subsonic should be at minimum an octave below box tuning. The slope is going to cut into your box’s tuning frequency, it’s not a brick wall filter it’s a 12db per octave I believe but even at 24db per octave you’re still cutting into tuning frequency of your enclosure. And phase is not just for inverting or not inverting subs. If you run multiple amps, you can put them both on an oscilloscope and see a slight variance in the waveform that is produced. For example amp 2 may be 3-5 degrees out of phase, so you use the phase adjustment to sync up those output waveforms so your subwoofers move in unison. Also can use the phase knob to adjust your delay etc. not just an invert button. Just saw this and wanted to share and clear some things up. Keep up the good work bro
@RandoManFPV3 жыл бұрын

When setting the gain in the amplifier, does the bass knob of my amp and also of my epicenter have to have be at max or all the way down when tuning? Please reply
@dvibezmusic5030 Жыл бұрын
You’d want your bass knob turned all the way up when tuning. Reason being, if you tune your amp with the bass knob set at half way for instance, when you decide to crank the knob up one day because you are in the mood to bump hard, you could potentially damage your speakers or over load your amp, because it wouldn’t be tuned correctly, at least not pass that half way level on the knob. So knob all the way up, and adjust your gain accordingly. Therefore if you decide to have the knob all the way up, you know the tune is set correctly for that amount of bass. Protect your investment.

Set it no more than a half octave lower than what your box is tuned at. Like say my 15in i just got. Specs on ported box showed it was tuned at 32hz made for my 15 specifically. Lots would just set subsonic at 32hz. But, most experts etc say u can go "half octave lower", which is just 32÷2=16 then 16÷2= 8, so my box is 32hz right? So i can take 8 off 32 and set it their safely, which is 32-8=24Hz. So mine is set at 24. Hope that helps, just need to know box specs kinda.
@johngracejr94363 жыл бұрын
It cant hurt to set it around 25 tho anyway, it will just make it so the subs don't try to get too much lower than 25hz, which 12s don't get that low usually anyway really. Id guess 30-35would be closer to recommended for you. But 25 should be fairly safe and hit a lil harder too haha. Goodluck

@@ROBBG88 yeah I figured that's why you used -5 instead of -3. I also understand the lower db test tone is going to increase the gain level a bit. I completely understand what your saying. The one thing I would like to know tho. You said you clip at half volume with about 75% gain. Did you purposely set gain at half volume so you dont need to crank the radio up or am I not understanding something. We typically set gain at about 75% radio volume to keep us from going over a volume that would introduce clipping. I'm pretty sure its less stress on the amp also.
