Call me a cheapskate, but it would be refreshing to see a “best of 2024” list that retail for $100 or less. Surely there’s an audience out there for more budget-friendly pours.

A bad 4🌹? I've never experienced that. Coy Hill is easily my most disappointing this year. Great content!

Love the 4 roses single barrel-barrel strength bottles, HH grain to glass bourbon is one of my favorites this year, wouldn't give $60 for the JM or MHC bottles. Overpriced and Overhyped in my opinion. Never found those Michters or Russell's 15 . JD coy hill is a great one I've heard. OGD 16 is my favorite bottle of 2024, Cheers and Merry Christmas 🎅 👍💯🥃

I know a ton of people love the 4 Roses Barel Strengths. I think I just got a bad batch, so definitely open to trying others! Man, I highly recommend getting a sample of the JMCB or MHC SR if you can find them. Blew my mind in my recent review of them. But to each their own of course! The OGD 16, could've gotten it at the DC Costco, but have heard a bit lack-luster reviews so decided to save my pennies for a different bottle. But would love to sample it and try it one day. Have a great Christmas and NYE! Thanks for watching and commenting as always!!

also from VA/DC/MD area, i'm in VA, cant stand the new system, but i'm curious, were your top ranked in any specific order? maybe you said that in the video and i missed it. but of what i've tried, which really was just the RR15 and Coy Hill, i'd personally rank the RR15 above it. i love both bottles but i was curious. also i probably mentioned it on another video, i'm not on social media, minus watching YT. but i have a 2024 coy hill i would like to workout a trade for a RR Single Rick CN-B if you had one. mine comes in at 131 proof.

Awesome video! Also from VA, do you have any suggestions/tips for how to get allocated items besides bouncing from one abc store to another every day lol? Cheers!

Glad to have a local watcher! Honestly, my best recommendation is to join some Virginia-based FaceBook groups and clubs. That way people can help notify when there are drops. However, they seem to have slowed recently and not many people are posting new drops. The new system really is a time and money waste. Best of luck and thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers!

Where are you finding Joseph Mag cigar blend for 170ish if you don’t mind me asking. I’m in Texas and that bottle usually goes for 250+.

I am in the Virgnia, DC, Maryland area. There is a store in MD called LAX and they had it for 170 when I was visiting. Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers!

No idea how that HH GtG made any BAD lists! I think it's gonna make many top 25 lists... Already did for Whisky Advocate
@CapitolBourbon20 күн бұрын
It is not bad by any means. It is just disappointing which is what the "bad" list was about. The marketing, IMO, hyped it up to be something spectacular, along with the price point. And I think considering that, for me, and for many others, the GtG series was a let down. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

Wow how did you get all these bottles ?
@CapitolBourbon18 күн бұрын
To be quite honest, probably half of my bottles that are allocated are on secondary that I've been collecting throughout the year. From stores that can charge above MSRP in DC or MD, and from some groups. The other half comes from putting in the effort given your situation to go out to drops, go hunting, and signing up for every lottery you can! Thanks for commenting and watching! Cheers!

I have 4 rebuys- 100 proof Old Grand-Dad, 100 proof Early Times, 100 proof Coopers' Craft, and 90 proof Bernheim Original Wheat Whiskey. I live in Frankfort Kentucky- if you are a big spender, go to J Mattingly and Glenn's Creek to do tastings, no sense spending big bucks before trying it.

Still have not tried the Early Times or the Bernheim. I definitely need to, I do see the Bernheim Barrel Proof around that I should probably pick up. But think I am Heaven HIll'd out with the Elijah Craig Barrel Proofs that get released so often. Thanks for the recommendations! I do plan on making my way out there soon and will have to stop by! Thanks for commenting and watching! Cheers!

First time seeing your channel, but I do have a question. Do you like Weller Special Reserve? The basis of asking this question is that you dogged Green River Wheated and you have a WSR sitting on your shelf, but you don’t have room on it because it takes up too much space (your words). I’m in TX and we have WSR everywhere for $30 and we also have GRW for $30….. I have to say they are very comparable and that GRW actually edges out WSR. So if the WSR earns a place on your shelf I am just slightly confused as to why GRW is a disappointment when most people have a hard time finding WSR and have access to GRW. I get that this is your opinion, I just find this odd. Please feel free to push back, I’m new and haven’t watched anything other than this video and am curious about this one particular aspect of your opinion. Regardless of your response, I am only curious and don’t want an argument. Honestly curious and interested. Have a great day! 🥃
@CapitolBourbon17 күн бұрын
Great question! To answer it, no I do not particularly like WSR either. The reason it is on the shelf in a prime location is simply because it is part of the Weller vertical and I like to group my bottles by distiller/brand. And it also looks nice to complete the Weller "rainbow". I wouldn't pay anything more than $35 for WSR and it will take me years to go through the current bottle I have. I have yet though to do a comparison of the WSR to the GRW but that is a great idea! Maybe "low budget vs high budget wheated bourbons". Hope that answers your question/curiosity. Thanks for commenting and watching and Cheers!

Like/agree with most of your choices. Would add Sagamore 9 Year Rye to your Best of 2024. Merry Christmas and Cheers!

That is one that I should've added and I really really enjoy. Definitely could've added that as well. So many good options this year in 2024. Thanks for watching and cheers!
