Nick's tastes in film is the best, so I trust his reviews. I'm glad he wasn't impressed with all the high-profile stuff, as most of it appears to be very formulaic and not really pushing the boundaries of art.

Glad to hear you enjoyed dune but yes expected about 1/3 of the first book to make it to 🎥 🎞. Disappointed to hear about last night in soho but am a huge fan of Edgar. He seems to struggle without a competent writer. Thanks for this nick! And joeseph you're as pleasant as always 🙂

Yes, I was looking forward to this! I'll have to put Lost Illusions on my watch list now. I hadn't heard of it before Cannes but with such high praise from Nick (and Xavier Dolan starring!), it's shooting up my list. Thank you! Also I love that Nick is so honest about his feelings about the festival films. It never feels like he's just going for what's popular. I loved him shouting out Benedetta and France (the film) at Cannes as well.

I have such an issue with HBO Max releasing Dune at the same time as the theatre release. I'm so glad that Villeneuve is demanding all his future films have a theatre only release. That won't help Dune at the box office secure it's necessary sequel which is just a crime. The Halloween movies are throwaways at this point. JLC said that "evil dies tonight" and I spit water. They haven't been able to kill evil yet. I didn't even know about the next movie. That 1 through 5 or 6 through 10 convo was so funny for some reason. I'll be sure to listen to the podcast while I'm picking up kids.

I love "Last night in Soho"...usually I agree with the reviews I have seen from you. But I don´t usually watch horror-movies, so I don´t know what it is supposed to look like. I just love this film the way it is.

I hope I'm not offend either you by saying this, but I just love the faces you make Joseph while Nick is going through his top 5 favorite movies. It's hilarious, you look like it's torturous for you to hear him talking about these movies. Like every movie Nick thinks is good you think is god-awful horrific, and it's painful to you to just hear about them! Maybe that is not how you feel but your face says something entirely different. To be honest the movies do sound like a real bore and something to be avoided.
