YA means Young ADULT, and the majority of the books stocked in that section of a store will NOT be appropriate for people under 18. While YA is generally not my cup of tea either, I have had a couple surprisingly good ones recommended to me (and more than a couple "adult" or "literature" novels recommended that were absolute, talentless crap). Frankly, all books are for "grown ups" if they let you de-stress from this sh*t-show we're dealing with. Maybe don't judge without trying, like a real grownup, yeah?
