I bought and installed the Whitestone Premium Film on my Fold 4. Almost threw it away because it scratched up very easily and killed screen clarity. Then I saw you remove the top layer, which I didn't do. So much better now, thank you!!

@@iam2loki4u I've had the fold since September now. The pre installed screen protector is fine- so no worries there. And most people say do not layer another screen protector on top, since it will change the thickness of the screen and might lead to issues

Just a tip, when splitting the screen protector, don't bend it as far back towards you, use as little of angle as possible, it significantly decreases chance of having a line in the middle...

FYI: those vertical lines when you add the Samsung outer screen protector will disappear after 1-2 days. So no worries. Ohh one more thing. There are two pieces in the package. What a surprise :) very good protection. Nice feeling.

When you first time turn on the phone Samsung even warns you to not remove the screen protector or add any other protector on the inner screen, as it can damage the display. I think the best thing to do in case you want to replace the factory inner screen protector, for whatever reason, is to take your phone to an authorised Samsung repair shop and let them take care of it.

Only criticism I have is that you should test closing and opening few times when installing inner protector. Some of the protectors don't stick well and will form bubbles pretty fast. Other than that, super useful video. Thanks!

I have one of the cases with the built-in screen protector. After a while the screen protector doesn't look so nice and eventually like any screen protector you want to change it so you can get the screen looking new again but with the built-in ones you can't change it. You spend a lot on the case, so I went for a case without one with an s pen which is very hard to find.

On the Amazon page for the Whitestone Dome premium gen protector there's an image that specifically says to remove the factory installed screen protector on the inner screen. Is this something we should ignore and use the protector on top of the factory installed one?

If you want to use the Whitestone I would tell you that in my experience with it, I tried to install it over the screen protector that came on the phone and it had bubbles once I closed and reopened the phone.

Typically the glass screen protectors have the same scratch resistance, there are some exceptions though. My favorites for the glass screen protectors would be Spigen, Ringke & Whitestone Dome.

I ordered the Spigen Glass Tr, installed it, and it had several noticable bubbles. Asked them to send me a replacement, and they were good enough to send it. 2nd screen protector also was eh... ordered the UniqueMe screen protector, which came with 2 protectors. Installed it, and it had two noticeable bubbles after I squeegeed it. Next day... bubbles were completely gone, and the screen protector looks great, and hides (most) fingerprints. Quick wipe and any smudge or fingerprints go away. Highly recommend the UniqueMe screen protector.

To an extent they might it depends on how thick the scratch is. In my experience sometimes the scratches will give this kind of rainbow affect if they’re big enough, but for small scratches, it should help to mask them

Yes. Not because it might break but because it has no or poor oleophobic coating. Coming from an iPhone, I love my new fold...but without screen protectors it's really, REALLY bad for fingerprints.

Thanks, great review, liked and subscribed, love the wide coverage of brands you do, your speed steps on installation, and your insight and feedback on each. I used the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector with the Ez Fit and it installed perfect with Spigen Slim Armor Pro Pen Edition case put on after. One thing though, when you did your installation, you forgot to show/do the installation of the included hinge protector. I installed it on mine and after the install, opened the phone to find the film protector got jammed between the hinge and the back top area... ended up having to peel it back off. Contacted customer service and they said they would send me another one in the mail, although because of the case I am now using, I probably will not bother putting it on as I think the specific phone I have may just jam up again in the same place because of the tight clearance between the hinge and back cover near the top on mine. I was impressed with Whitestone's products that you reviewed and that first one you reviewed looks great if you don't want to use a case and noted that you didn't have any issues putting the hinge protection film when open/closing the phone, even though on my phone with the Spigen brand, mine got jammed.

I would recommend still using a hinge protector with the spigen slim armor pro. I used a slim armor pro case for 2 years with my fold 2 and a lot of dust/debree would get inside the hinge guard and scratch up the hinge.

@@Achilles_11_ yes, I would love to put it on but there is just not enough of a gap top back and the hinge to put it on, although I will try again, maybe when I stuck it on the first time, that part was not quite all the way down. The company was really good about saying they would send me another, but two weeks later, nothing in the mail yet. But anyways thanks for your advice and suggestion. In the two weeks I have had the phone... lol just gave the hinge a wipe, it looked pretty good with minimal dust/debris, but appreciate your experience, so will make another attempt.... going to contact Spigen on Amazon again and ask what is happening with the extra hinge film they promised me.

Wanted to try again incase it was me the way I put it on as the hinge protector film really sticks and hard to even see, except when it jammed on my top back section of the hinge. As for the front Ez glass screen, it is well worth it by it's self.

@n Also n, the film is super thin and looked like it would work, but when I put it on the first time, it looked like it was on, on all edges, but I could have missed that one part that got jammed and I won't know until I try again. As mentioned the EZ glass applicator and the actual glass protector for the front screen really feels great, perfect fit, and easy application to get perfect line-up on your screen. As for the Whitestone, either one with hinge film protection could jam if not put on tight on the edges, which is what I hope just happened to me, and that is why I am willing to try again. As for the front screen, amazing for the last month of use I have had with it. I am not too worried about the hinge right now, as I have a great case, the Spigen Slim Armor Pro Pen Edition, which already protects the hinge, and the only thing the hinge will see now is dust and debris. The case hinge protector doesn't touch the hinge with it's amazing design, but some have said that it may get scratched over time from debris getting in the gap, so a quick wipe once in a while should do for good measure, and when my replacement comes from Spigen, I will try again.... both brands have great products and names. Spigen has more varied products though overall.

@n Yeah, I heard that about the magnets.... about the grip, not sure on past cases, but this one feels very grippy with a rubbery feel, not plastic, but yes the hinge protector does feel plastic, but you know what, because of the patterned surface, you don't really notice and feels grippy because of the pattern. The only thing is the price is higher, but all things considered, in the long run, I think all the pro's of this case make it a success for me, even though it is more money. In any event, hope you enjoy and are happy with the VRS case... it always comes down to measuring all of the pros/cons to come out with what will work best for you.

For everyone looking for a screen protector for fold 4: DON'T. Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with a preinstalled screen protector which is the best for this phone. It is professionally installed directly by Samsung, it will last longer and it is designed for the folding screen. There is no other matching screen on the market.

IMAK is the best screen protector. Only 0,15mm of thikness so it doesn't crack in the middle after time. 6 months later and it still looks like new. Zero lifting or bubbling. It also doesn't has that stupid hole for the front camera on the main, foldable screen. Full screen coverage.

I am with you on that one but if you plan on using a case, you will definitely want a screen protector that doesn’t go edge to edge because you’ll end up getting lifting in some of the corners. The manufactures are just trying to please everybody instead of making two different screen protectors..
