It’s because when you perform a reaction villagers respond to it. Like if you use shock, the villagers also get shocked. So when you use the sitting reaction, the game tells the villager it must perform something so it makes the villager go into a different state, aka standing.

Boy, back in around march - September 2020 when I was highly love ACNH (animal crossing new horizon) and very obsessed with it, I love to seeing the vid but can't play it cuz I don't have a switch, and I always remember that I woke up every morning (around 6-7 am) and go to the grocery store to buy some drink, then go back home using my bike, then literally open KZbin and watch acnh for 1-2 hour straight then at around 8 pm I power up my laptop and plays some games (sometimes I play roblox, Minecraft, cod, and also sometime trying to download an switch emulator but fails several time till around the end of September I start realizing that I doesn't really interested in animal crossing and stopping watch the vid about it, but then when 2021 hit and it start March again, I notice that it's almost animal crossing new horizon release date (around March 20 if I remember correctly) and I planned to celebrate it by did the exact same thing when I highly obsessed with animal crossing new horizon, (I'm writing this comment on March 18 2021, also sorry if I got a bad english)
