I used my 7 plus for almost 2.5 years then i sold 7plus but i am still using its adapter and cable to charge my iphone XR for 5 months now. And my XR is on 100% battery health. I bought new Xr box which comes without adapter and and Earpods so i am using iphone 7plus adapter. Charge it overnight and use my Xr for whole day. Recently we purchased iphone 14 pro max . I purchased 20w apple charger. It worked fine and got no heating issue . Then i purchased iphone 14 . When i charged it with apple 20w charger , my iphone 14 was heating too much . So i was worried about battery health.. then i used samsung 15w usb charger. But it was charging too slow . Then i purchased samsung 15w type c charger in rs 800/-. Now i am using samsung 15w type c charger to charger with iphone 14 and got no heating issue and charging is also very fast .

What I have seen using more watt charger for longer periods will hamper battery health. I have stopped using 18 watt iPhone 11 Pro charger Use 5 watt or max 12 watt ! The reason apple made charging cables are not durable is because they have completely removed PVC components from their manufacturing of these cables. The aim is to become carbon neutral. Now, because the outer cover which holds the charging wires together is not made up of PVC, it is more likely to undergo easy wear and tear. However, wise use of these cables will definitely increase their life span and will run longer without any problem. Finally, its not that Apple makes cheap charging cables, but its ensuring removing PVC components as much as it can from whichever products it can.
