This video is perfect. I'm actually in the process of building my first AR and wanted a great muzzle brake.

Have you looked up the Nero muzzle break from Walker Defense Research?
@JoshRash3 ай бұрын
Thank you sir! I've been looking for a side by side analysis of different brakes with data for a while now! Well done!

Glad it was helpful. We are going to do a 9mm pcc test in the near future stay posted for that.

I started switching to V Seven Titanium muzzle devices. Great price and great products.

If you guys really want to cut down on recoil check out the HU-DU MUZZLE BREAK made by the great guys at SOUTHERN TOOL AND PRECISION in maryville Tennessee. There are videos showing a man shooting a 300 min mag off his chin

Have you all had a chance to look over and test out the Nero muzzle break from Walker Defense Research yet? I'm trying to get as much idea's and thoughts on a muzzle break for competition use for my AR-15.

You can get the Dragon on sale for like $100, and it’s easily the best looking of these. Plus it’s compatible with their BMD so I don’t make any enemies at the indoor range.

Thanks so much for this video. It helpe me decide which brake to purchase. Ended up getting the Hollywood brake. Put it on my Saint Victor 5.56 with 16” barrel. The concussion to the shooter is on the extreme side, just about knocks my hat off. Was wondering if you experienced the same amount of shooter blowback. Thank you :)
@StonerCNC22 күн бұрын
The concussion on the top 3 brakes are very and similar and aggressive. I should have mentioned that in the video. I am making a second video in month to address some of the items I missed.

Nice comparison thank you. Would you consider doing the comparison test again but this time have a noise metering device placed at the butt stock to measuring sound also?
@StonerCNC29 күн бұрын
I tried to measure the sound with a sound meter near the gun during testing. However, the meter's reading varied very little from Comp to comp. I think the this is due to 2 things. 1 the sound change was only a couple milli seconds and 2 it may have been above the meters sound range as the highest reading I got was 119.7DB. The top 3 brake have the most noise/concussion and produced the best results recoil reduction on and off the sled. We are going to make another video in the near future I will try to include some sort of noise rating in that video. Thanks for your comments

The Hypertap still wins. It is 2oz lighter (which is like 40+%) that is a monumental difference. Considering it can be found on sale for $110 and it was only a 5% (which you will not feel) It is the clear winner. IMO

Great video! Are the recoil reduction better with these than a muzzle break + silencer? Or are silencers not allowed in competitions for some reason? Always wondered why I never see competitors with silencers. Cheers
@StonerCNCАй бұрын
@@smurfaka I have not personally tested a silencer on a sled. However, from what I seen online they are not as effective at recoil reduction as good brake. If do a future test I may try one. However, at this time I do not own one.

I would love to see a two tiered test. The quality of a brake is hard to measure since it's a lot of preference. Personally I would rather have a brake that removes the muzzle RISE rather than the recoil remitted. If the dot doesn't move up... I am not waiting on the muzzle to settle on a hammered pair if the dot is still in the target area I want to hit.
@StonerCNC3 ай бұрын
I agree with what you’re saying. My plan is to do a second test showing muzzle return. The best I have come up with is shooting some hammered double pairs on paper to see how the impact moves. This is what was done on the initial development of the Stoner CNC brake. We found that a balanced brake with our baffle design produced the best return to center. Top ports actually drove the gun down and was less controllable. Other brakes we tested showed similar results. This is contrary to some popular opinions on the matter. I may do some long range double pairs also. If you have suggestions on the testing I will consider them.

No Unrivaled UB or SB3 apart of this test 🤔🤔🤔
@StonerCNCАй бұрын
@@thatboygerv I would be happy to test them in the future. At the time we picked what was available and we thought was the best. I choose the Apollo max over the Unrivaled because it was in stock I believe the unrivaled was sold out . Additionally the Apollo max had a similar design with more ports at a more aggressive angle which we thought would produce better recoil reduction. I am unfamiliar with the SB3. Additionally we cannot test every brake on the market. If you have one of these brakes you mentioned and would lend it to us I will test it in a second video follow up.

@@StonerCNC I got a Unrivaled on my 13.9 build butI actually might pick up the stoner for my 14.5 build I'm doing . I'm not to familiar with timing nuts, does the pin and weld go on the nut or on the brake?
@StonerCNCАй бұрын
@@thatboygerv You would time it and drill thru the nut and comp as one piece. Send me a message on our facebook page.
