I'm excited for New World, but there are two improvements I'd love to see. First, adding ambient lighting like lanterns or torches would be awesome for navigating darker areas. It’s not about adjusting brightness settings-having a lantern on the hip that you can turn on and off would just add to the atmosphere. Second, I’d love if solo content scaled for 2-3 players so friends don’t have to wait around outside during solo boss fights. It’d be great to tackle the challenges together with scaled difficulty!"

Personally I'm picking Mystic -- kind of a compromise of what I like to play in game, what I want to try (haven't played New World since 2022) and what I found hard to level before. I like Life Staff, I want to try Flail, I absolutely hated the early Arcana leveling in my past play throughs. I also know for a fact that I will have no issues leveling any of the gatherings beyond Fishing (I hate fishing) and I love chest runs (I know I'm weird). The big thing to remember is that one character can do everything but doesn't have to, spend some time dinking around figuring out what works for you.

going with the ranger! Tools are very important and expensive at the start if you can buy the ore and make the tools will boost your start as will sell fast almost all tools, smelting also level as you do charcool!

I’m going to run 2 toons. One to level with son at a slower pace, and one to run when he isn’t on, which I will be heavy crafting and gathering focus.

I had planned on picking Ranger because over and over again i saw people emphasizing how useful Engineering was for having access to higher level tools earlier...but the way you presented it makes me think it might be easier to just manually level that one up because i can make my money back by making and selling tools, does that sound right to you? Maybe start with Soldier to have easy access to the mining and smelting ajd then manually power level engineering... I'm looking to start making money asap with a fresh start...

Yep thats exactly how I made the calculations to order them from "cheapest to most expensive", I've factored in the money you could make back if you sold those items you made from the materials you bought :) - I feel like there are 3 types of players, 1:the players who chill through the game and don't care, 2: Those who like to save the most amount of ingame coin and 3: the players who like to save the most amount of time, so hopefully this gives everyone that info :)

I think the costs for a brand new server where multiple people are leveling is going to be extremely different than a server where everyone has been at level cap for 2 years, so I'd definitely take that cost breakdown with a grain of salt. I'm also a little skeptical of some of the gathering profession speeds. Competition isn't the only metric that determines how easy it is to level a tradeskil. I've always gotten my skinning passively leveled up quicker than any other profession on the multiple characters I've leveled since launch. You just want to make sure you don't hit a point where the skill is too low to skin what you kill. A lot of skinning levels passively, but Mining you often have to go out of your way to find nodes.

I've played the last batch of Fresh Start Servers, the prices where higher than the legacy servers but everything was more expensive so it was all in the same order and this is why I did not include the actual current coin prices ;) - As for the timing, go make a new character, level them all to 50 1 by 1 and record the times for yourself :P

The TS boost is only going to get you 1 crafting/refining/gathering to 50, which is trivial compared to getting it to 250. Its really just there to help you out a bit when you're a noob. JMHO

Everyone sleeping on cooking remember food gives you stats up to +48 I bet it is gonna be expensive and a good way to make gold for the first few months of the game

Things that need to change: The war system, a very low percentage actually get to participate. The manual control of the schedule for wars, they should be automated. Territory control, the biggest company usually dominates your entire play experience. The gold distribution, it makes that same low percentage richer than everyone else beyond what they can reach themselves. The towns, crafting and taxes are also controlled by this small percentage. The nonexistent end game, that is stale and boring after you complete all the quests and dungeons. There's 1 OPR map that most people sit around and queue for, because there's really nothing else to do. The chest runs seem to be about the best content in the game. The latency, lag and desync that will also be there due to the international ping monster from offshore sellers. Lots and lots of bots. Tons of microtransactions and more to come. And the ugliest skins in any game and will continue to devolve.

I think it's because you are required to get rise of the angry earth for flail so if anyone decides to get back into the game a make a new character only to see a pay wall in character selection they might just quit and they probably just wanted to avoid that

i ALWAYS choose Mage. Not the easiest but that what I like, a good challenge. The mage is top of the line DPS at high lvls.

In PvP Mage is decent yeah, in PvE sadly mage is not even in the top 4 or 5 builds atm (with current meta)

'just buy to level crafting' is not doable as new players tho.. & did they ever sort out the node issue ? the shortage of mats got beyond riduclous

Yes it is... you dont have to buy your way from day1, nothing stopping you starting your crafting a week, or two weeks into the game etc :)

You never considered the cosmetics (transmogs - free skins) - Pro tip: skins are account wide so I plan to start a character for each type just to unlock the skins

It's the first time I read that the starting sets also unlock it's skins for free, is this the case or do you have to unlock these skins using the transmog tokens on them?

the first 50 levels of fishing would be worth the pick. Fishing is the most tiresome thing to level early game due to the lack of usable hotspots. BTW, new players should not bother gathering until they hit level 55, then they get the best tools and bigger bags. Early gathering is waste of time more so than usual.

not so true with the gathering at end game levels, then you have to go back to all the starting areas and JUST GATHER, where as you can do some passive gathering and crafting as you level through the zones in the game :)
