What was wrong with the officiating? The ref got every big decision spot on. Both reds were clear cut and no arguments about Everton's penalty. The ref was quite right not to show MBS (y'know Graham Souness, 'the number 29' - if you are going to be a pundit at least pretend to make an effort to know the players names) a second yellow. It wasnt a bookable offence.

I'm old enough to remember an Everton side 2-0 up against Sheffield United in the second half, dominating the game 11 vs 11 and on course to win the title. Sheffield United snatched a goal out of nowhere and ten minutes later they were winning 3-2 and Everton's title chance was gone. It only takes a single moment to turn even the most dominant game on it's head, so it's impossible to say if Everton would have gone on and won had Branthwaite not been sent off.

@@lufc448 mate I’ve been to all those grounds, that atmosphere on Thursday was better then what I’ve seen at European games, not many grounds have an 18k seater stand fully standing with the lower tier standing on the other side of the ground. You get 60k singing one song it’s ridiculously loud. You can hate cause we’re so called part of the “big 6” but we still have a quality fan base, before moving we had one of the best atmospheres in England, when you combine that with a NLD it’s a recipe for a banging atmosphere, how can you comment when you weren’t even there 😂

I was there for a game earlier this season and there was only noise from the "ultras" section And even then it was all led by a drummer which was pretty poor 😆 As soon as Brentford fans started outsinging palace the ultras section stopped making noise which was odd. Been to far better grounds this season. Goodison being one.
