BTW... that Wingman app is a free (Android or iOS) download. It does not require purchase/use of USB "dongle" when used with MixPre Series. (A dongle is required when using the app with any 6-Series mixer/recorders, i.e. 688, 633 or 664, but not with MixPres)

Love this video and one of the reasons I got the Schoeps MiniCMIT was your reaction at 10:19. I've had the MiniCMIT for a month now and had the same reaction when I first used it with Sony 7506 headphones and Zoom F6. Unbelievable mic and I'm still blown away every time i listen to it. The reach and the isolation and the clarity are mindblowing.

I use the Sound Devices 702T. In fact I just had it returned from Sound Devices in WI, with a clean bill of health. Never skimp on sound!

The MixPre 3 and 6 also accept timecode via the aux in connector... it's not just timecode in via the HDMI connector as you imply in the video

Hey DVeStore, nice overview of the whole range of MixPres. I really want to buy a 10T but I have one question in my mind that bug me. The use of the sled with lithium 2 batteries at an angle is awkward to me. So I said to myself ok, I can power it using the hirose cable. But it's at an angle too which can be a problem too if you lay your recorder in the bottom of the bag (not suspended). So I was looking after the SD-1 hirose adapter that you mount on the back sled. But then again, I am not sure it works on the 10T because the place where it mounts is recessed on the 10T (whereas it's flat on the 3 & 6). So I was wondering if there is enough room for the cable to connect and bend smoothly there. Do you have any insights on this ? Would be wonderful. Thanks !

Thanks for the review. I am planning on using the pre 3 or the pre 6 with NTG 3 for a indie feature. They want the audio recorded straight to the camera Ursa Mini Pro. They were also talking about getting Lava mics as well. What do you think would be the best workflow. Also is there a way to delete tracks right away, if it was a false take? Thank you for your response.

Thanks for your question! The shotgun mic is the best in most situations for an indie feature. I would only go lavalier if it were a wide shot or other aesthetic reasons. Yes, you can delete tracks right away by going to in the File list, and choose Trash Take. Also in the Advanced mode you can Undo the last take.

Correct! There is a Low cut filter which you can enable on each channel. This can help with wind or handling noise in the low frequencies.

The "out" will be from 3.5 mini stereo jack, no balanced ! Only the MixPre 10 has a 2 Ta3 out

No arguments on the quality of your shot gun mic but as a award winning pro audio engineer I can assure you the Rodes G4 sounds just as good and at much less cost. Even on a scope there is no difference. You are paying for a marketing campaign and old ploy that if you charge a lot of money people will think they have something better Again it is a great mic. You just paid too much for the same audio quality you could have had in the RØDE

schoeps doesn't make the best shotgun mics. Sennheiser is King here. Neumann and Sanken are great options too. As always depends on the location and source/voice.
