I live in Dripping Springs and love it, thank you for the info!

My daughter and her husband moved from Santa Monica CA to Avana in Circle C eight months ago and their home is gorgeous! They bought it for $613,000 and it could easily sell for $750,000 right now. Incredible rise in home prices in Austin in less than a year. Their home is 3,000 sq. ft. with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths. The amenities and schools are wonderful. I flew out from the Bay Area for a few days and was struck by how spotlessly clean everything was and how great the infrastructure was! Amazing roads! I loved the beautiful parks, the Grey Rock Golf Course and all the trees and greenery. We went to Treaty Oak Distilling in Dripping Springs and that was fun. My daughter’s husband works in downtown Austin and Circle C is an easy commute, much better than DS. One thing I have to say about Austin is that there is hardly any littering! Lots of pride out there!

@@JeremyAKnight Beautiful place to live! I’m hoping they can manage their escalating yearly property taxes. I think they can. 🙏 They took me to Terry Blacks BBQ! Best BBQ I’ve ever had in my entire life! I also loved Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill. There’s a Mexican restaurant on S. Lamar that has been there for years that was great too. Much happiness and success to you and your family, Jeremy!

I’m really liking this town. I’ve been contemplating leaving California ever since this COVID crap started. I just don’t like California’s politics and laws but I love the landscape. To me, this Austin area of Texas reminds me of some of the East Bay outdoor areas with the hills and Oak trees, and feels like a great place to be with a hint of familiarity. I definitely want to head that way after the lockdown to scope out the area.

We live S of Bay area, S of San Jose but are from Austin area. When retired we'd planned to come back home & live in the hill country, close to family. But TX is not the same state we left when we went where jobs took us. It's now full of crazies & right now we feel safer in CA. Our daughter who teaches in Leander ISD & hubby's brother & sister said TX has gone to the dogs. Brother in Houston & cousins in suburban San Antonio & Dallas can't believe it's gotten so bad under Abbott. Besides taxes anyone looking in DSpgs areas needs to do their due diligence re the county a property is in (Hayes v Travis) as well as the water situation (per hubby's cousin who's lived & taught Math in DSpgs.) & no matter where you live in Austin & surrounding areas, traffic's terrible. It's been like that for years & years & years, even when my parents moved from Austin to Round Rock. & now it's worse than CA😬

If you don't want to sit in stop and go traffic for an hour each way, morning and after work, Circle C is the only good choice here. It is about twice as close to the inner city as Dripping. Jeremy is now saying he would pick Dripping Springs. He must not mind dealing with hours in traffic.. If you work from home or are retired, Dripping Springs would be fine. I happen to like the whole feel of Circle C. Lots of very nice houses, good retail, you can be on MoPac, one of the city's two main freeways, in seconds.

Great video! While both seem like amazing places to live, I agree Dripping Springs just edges out Circle C

The 'Y' intersection is and always has been horrible. If you have to commute through the Y everyday for work, your quality of life will suck. I'd go with Circle C and Davis area.

We just bought 2 acres in Dripping and are now having a Barndominium built by John simering. It does suck in Drip🤣🤣🤣🤣

2 acres? wow who’s your realtor in DS

Let's compare the same home builders and the same square footage and floor plan of both areas to see which one is really more expensive than the other. If you're gonna be paying the same price then you might as well live in Circle C.

D Man for most people cost isn’t the entire reason to live in an area. If you watched the video, there are several reasons to live in both.

We lived in south Austin an I personally saw over the last 6 years the homeless issues spread from downtown all the way down to Manchaca and slaughter. And now over to Brodie and slaughter. That’s not a good trend so we sold our house and moved out to dripping to get some distance from that so our family will not have to deal the problems that come along with that.

You’re comparing a master planned community to a whole town?
@JeremyAKnight3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Because that’s is what people look at to compare SW Austin for the schools.
